Good thing, because from what I know cat crap is like lao sai and very smelly.

[grin] whose sai is not smelly? [sweatdrop] all sai are smelly. but where possible, they will defecate at a sandy area and cover it up, thus reducing the sai smell.

My cat passed away yesterday after 21 yrs with us.

She contracted diabetes 3 yrs back and was on insulin twice a day. Was on the brink of death then and we managed to save her. Then about 8 months ago, she developed a growth which was found to be cancerous. As she is very old and already diabetic, the vet advised us that surgery procedure to remove the growth has very high chance of failure. Hence we decided not to let her go for surgery. She lost a lot of weight and yesterday late night, she suffer seizures and seems to be in extreme pain causing her not to be able to stand or even crawl. We brought her to emergency vet at wee hours of the morning and the vet gave her injection to eliminate the pain but advised us to opt for euthanasia as she is already in the condition of not being able to eat and drink and the seizures would come back and also further treatment will likely only prolong her life for a few more days at most and prolonged her pain which is likely to be due to cancer cells spreading to other parts of the body. Very heart wrenching seeing the state she is in compared to the good times she had with us all these years and with reluctance she left us. [:(]

it has lived a long life in your household. i think it is a wise decision to let her go so that she will not needlessly endure any more pain. remember her in her best days and how she had featured in some of the best parts of your life.

go ahead, keep one. the joy they can bring will outweigh the heatbreak when you lose them to illness/death.

my youngest will surely squeeze her way into our room every night for a 5 to 10 min cuddle before we lights off. one of the highlights of my day, besides the time when she welcomes me home almost w/o fail every night.

Thank you all for the well wishes and comments. [:)]

A lot of memories keep coming back as I look at her old photos and etc. The pain felt was in seeing her suffering the way she did on her last day. The scenes kept playing in my mind. It kept me awake on tues morning after a few hours of tossing and turning in my bed till almost dawn. How I wish she would just pass away peacefully in her sleep or etc instead of going through what she did... [:(]

you were with her at her last breath. that is probably the best way you can let her go. i'm sure she understands and appreciates that.

Hi bros/sis, can anyone here recommend animal clinics that are able to perform sterilisation for stray cats at short notice (like one day in advance)? Also preferably at a discounted price for cats welfare member.

There are a few female cats in my neighbourhood that I want to bring for sterilisation, but it is often inconvenient to make a booking in advance as there is no guarantee that I'll be able to catch them the day before the appointment. Some stray cats tend to run away when you go nearer after feeding them.

TIA

See this please. Thank you for your good work. It is not easy catching a wiley community cat. If you can catch the tom cat, all the better.

Hi cat lovers,

Would like to find out whether anyone used cat boarding facilities or cat sitting and what are your experiences with them?

My family and I would be away for 10 days in November and are considering these alternatives for our 3 cats.

Thanks.
