How do i calculate mileage?

Guys i need help in calculating mileage. My maths is really bad.

 

I know to know the total FC, i have to use mileage / petrol pumped.

 

But the issue is that do i need to pump full tank everytime and use it till the petrol lights blinks up?

LET CARS FUEL GUAGE GO TO A CERTAN LVL SAY 1/4 THEN GO PUMP . TAKE NOTE HOW MUCH PETROL PUMPED AND THE DRIVE . ONCE FUEL GUAGE REACHES THE 1/4 MARK AGAIN , JUST TAKE DIST (SINCE LAST PUMP) / LITERS OF PETROL PUMPED . RESULTS WILL GIVE U KM PER LITER

This is what you can do:

 

1st Trip to Petrol Kiosk

Pump to full tank using autostop on the pump

Re-set your Odometer to 0km

Drive as you would normally

 

2nd Trip - Does not matter the level of fuel you are left with

Check and record Odometer eg. 380km

Pump to full tank, using autostop (the best result is to go backc to the exact pump at the exact station for consistency)

Check and record the Amount pumped eg. 38 ltrs

 

Divide 380km by 38 ltrs and your FC is 10km/ltr

 

Then reset to 0km again and repeat.

 

Repeat the process at least 10 times and above to get a more accurate picture. Just add up the total kms and divide by the total litres.

yup this is what i always do, but i will pump myself as sometime the petrol kiosk crew never pump full for me.

Even though i am not the original poster of the message I would still like to thank you guys since this has helped me a lot.

I have a friend who needs to calculate the mileage as well and he was asking for help until now. Now I know what to tell him
