Yet another selfish & dangerous drive (VIDEO)

Wanted to post this on Monday morning but need to meet my minimum post.

Most drivers would have witnessed and encountered too often of a rude, selfish, road hogging, road bully, reckless and dangerous driver on our roads. Should you wish more can be done by our authority/traffic police?

Witnessed and encountered yet another such driver last night (Sun 29Aug10) on ECP around East Coast area. The black/silver too tone color car (looks like a Honda Jazz/Fit?) with big "SPOON" sticker [thumbsdown] on the back windscreen. The driver was very selfish [mad], road hogging (on lane1), refuse to let others to overtake, not signal correctly [hur], jam break deliberately several occasions on lane1 [furious] and try to crash other vehicle by deliberately going into other vehicle lane (see video here of SGB658xT and judge for yourself). After i managed to overtake this reckless driver, the driver immediately changed several lanes fast and dangerously in fornt of other cars and headed to the next available exit on left. Maybe scare others may do the same to him or report his action [rifle].

Hope the authority/traffic police (TP) quickly take necessary actions to this driver and/or charge driver with dangerous driving and road bully. So to the driver or who know this driver please tell him TP will soon sent him a letter soon [bigcry]

It's about time we all act more to action/voice our concerns to TP and stop such reckless driver behaviors so as to have a safer road for us and our family to travel on. With so many car accidents on our roads and spiral insurance premium costs every year, i hope we can all do something as a community and just keep sending evidence like this to TP.

Q: What actions should Traffic Police do to this driver?

Q: What can we do to have these dangerous drivers off our road?

You comments and valid suggestions are welcome.

Cheers and be safe on our roads.

The driver of that car is indeed rather reckless and inconsiderate in pulling those "stunts". Apparently thinking that he has the right to lane 1 as long as he is within speed limit or "fast enough", and that anyone trying to go faster should not be allowed. Typical road hogger mentality. But then, after his first jam brake stunt (0:36 to 0:40), why did you still tailgate and follow him so closely (1:00 onwards)? The obvious wise thing to do, knowing someone dares to play punk, would be to keep a distance and then overtake him quickly and safely when you get a chance. [hur]

Just trying to have a closer look of the driver mah.

Trying to have a better look at the driver can be done by tailgating meh? [confused]

A better way would be to pull up next to him on the middle lane. That way, even if he drives into your side he will be in trouble. You will be the one in more trouble if you crash into him from behind.

Hi RoadStomper.. welcome to MCF! [wave]

To answer your questions:

Q: What actions should Traffic Police do to this driver?

A. TP should throw the book at this driver.... BUT unless you are elite, the TP will do jackshitz. If the other driver is elite, good luck to you, you may be fined for reckless driving.

Q: What can we do to have these dangerous drivers off our road?

A: nothing much... unless you are driving a truck and can sideswipe them off the road.

This driver is using other cars to block your overtake. Tried several time and the red car also tried many times.

just overtake the car.

Tried the middle lane also no use. He sure did tried to drived into my lane (2nd lane) and i need to swerve quickly and almost hit the next lane (3) vehicle (video cut also for evidence).

Neutral Newbie

Next time don't bother, overtake and be cool. It seen that both of you tried to get even with each other and that causes him to be "reactive. Worst, an accident occur to either one of you and you will regret for the rest of your life if death resulted.

actually this is beyond selfish. at around 0:33s he clearly signal LEFT but actually filter RIGHT and into TS lane in front of TS. then as mentioned after dat he deliverately jam brake for no reason other than trying to cause an accident.

selfish ppl are just simply tinking of themself and not others. they dun intentionally/maliciously try to cause harm to others but this idiot is obviously trying to provoke TS.

TS when u meet such ppl, i suggest just let them be. i know its very infuriating, etc but no point and not worth to get invovled with them. they are ppl with personal issues and feel the need to show "power" on the road (maybe in the office/at home they're totally whipped). think of urself and ur family first.

something doesnt look right. we wud definately like to hear the other driver's side of story too.

it doesnt make sense for someone to drive like that towards you ... unless you havnt shown us what happened prior to your "cut" video .. we have to reserve judgement on this incident

You might be right. Must avoid these drivers at all cost.

But i personally think it's a big ego problem. These driver like to show off on the road and can do anything they like on the road. Most likely the attitude of if you want you to overtake him/her must driver faster then him/her. Seen too many of these types of drivers on the road. These drivers think they action will not be capture hence quick exit when they like.
