I would prefer direct from the gahment. It's super efficient compared to postal offices. And save the sales pitch where they are trying to sell you other services and PP cover. [dead]

Just make the necessary appointment online. Go 20 minutes before appointed time to get Q ticket and you can normally collect it at your appointed time. The convenience fee which you need to pay for postal collection is about the $$$ you go down ICA.

For children's passport, no way to collect at post office.

When I renewed my son's PP recently online. The application was already processed the next day and an email was sent to me asking me to book collection appointment. I booked an appointment a bit farther away from their first available date 'cos need to build in buffer for postal delay for the pink ICA collection card to arrive at my mail box.

i know its very efficient after you have made the booking .... i collected my last passport this way ... arrived abit earlier and collected exactly at appt time.

but last time work late .... but now have to take leave .... so thinking if can collect at nearby post office will be more convenient.

Chum, my passport is expiring in August and I am intending to go to JB for 2 days, some time next week (end March).

Will there be a problem?

That will depend on luck element, which is dependent on the immigresi opicer attending to you, how your face looks on that day and time.

By the books, you will be turned back if you go to countries like Japan and Korea where people only read books. But, the saving grace is you are entering boleh land, so sometimes praying with two coconuts may boost your luck element.

My wife PP left 3 months and we just entered and left MY-SG without issue. But, she is holding boleh land PP. The boleh land imigresi opicer totally heck care, while SG immigration officer just happily reminded her that PP is expiry soon, please kindly renew. :D

If you renew online now, you should be able to collect just before your trip next weekend since it's off peak period. :D

In fact, 2-3 working days is all they need. [thumbsup]

Nowadays, it is possible to renew PP on the spot and get it on same day. Do call and make an appointment before going down is recommended though.
