Tjkbeluga 5th Gear September 1, 2010 Share September 1, 2010 Actually , i try to move the topic alittle off abit... IMO, Ah Kong most of the time over spend... Given so many examples which i dont wish to list..... Take one example : "We are investing enormously in our rail network, in fact over the next decade we are going to spend S$60 billion and we are going to double the rail network," Lee said in an address to the nation." http://sg.news.yahoo.com/rtrs/20100829/tap...il-c3bb44c.html Why would we need to invest so much into the "existing" transport system???? $60billion for 10 years, $6billion per year???? [knife] Thats a very huge amount.... The thing is, they are trying to "modify and widen".... Not re-built 60 billion is indeed a lot. Really no idea how the came out with that figure. Even for MY to build double track all the way to the north, the projection is 2 billion. I'm not sure of the currency but even if it's USD, seems nothing compared to SGD 60 billion. ↡ Advertisement
CH_CO 6th Gear September 1, 2010 Share September 1, 2010 (edited) A story I heard or something like that: 2 rabbits were hopping in the forest. Then a bear appeared and attacked them. The 2 rabbits hopped like crazy, hoping to escape and not to be eaten alive. Rabbit A survived the ordeal and one day later, met a friend who heard about the incident. Friend said: I always thought you are never that fast enough to escape the bear. Rabbit A: I'm not but I was faster than Rabbit B yesterday. Moral of the story: You don't have to be the best but make sure you are better than those next to you. Problem is how do you know they are not better. While our neighbors are fighting terrorist and armed robberies on regular basis , we can't even catch mas selamat with a whole police force and part of the army looking for him. Adequate training? Our SAF are not as useless as you think they are. There are things that is happening behind us that are not reported to the media (rightly so, in order not to cause unnessary panic.) which you and i do not know. Plus, Mas Salamate is a top class #1 wanted terrorist in S.E Asia, very much like Osama Bin Ladin to the world. Aristotle 5th Gear September 1, 2010 Share September 1, 2010 To be fair to the police, I think to catch Mas Selamat when he has the intention to hide, is not going to be easy. Imagine whole batallions of police and army activated, scouring the forest areas, only to find lots of illegal immigrants in the forested area with the wanted man no where in sight. I'm just unhappy that WKS was not held responsible for the lapse in security, including how the hell he got pass the immigration or went by sea. This is something not forgivable, IMO. He is caught elsewhere, based on tipoffs. To catch a big fish, normally you need insider news and strike when the opposition least expected it. Ferraricalifornia 1st Gear September 1, 2010 Share September 1, 2010 (edited) and we don't have to complain this and that to the gahmen regarding meeting our needs.... mostly are wants.... and the gahmen knows.... they'll increase the cost of everything here, (except our salaries) it's only a time of when.... Skunk Clutched September 1, 2010 Share September 1, 2010 who came out with the rules to govern Singapore??? by serving Singapore, you're serving the government.... live with it.... no, the Government is different from the Nation. Singapore existed before PAP, not the other way round. More importantly, will exist long after they're gone, provided patriots stand up to serve the Nation regardless of cost or sacrifice. ↡ Advertisement
