Discrimination? Becos so far no one influential and prominent enough dare to stand up and point out that the "no dialect" rule, like the 2-child rule, is already outdated and need to be revoked!! I only knew what I was missing when I caught the taiwanese drama on malaysian cable (sat?) TV. Wah, very refreshing and very genuine to hear them scold each other in taiwanese hokkien It's proof that other chinese dialects are no lesser than mandarin, and in fact, can be used even in the modern context.
