i do not want to be racist too. but its the majority. u all just guess the race k.

last month, i park my car beside the road to buy food from the hawker. when i saw one creature came, i walk towards him

and say i am leaving. he said ok while pressing his pda. i ask if he summon me or not. he say no , just recording things.

Few weeks later, i got the summon. How you feel?

Another case, i park my car at a lot and tear a coupon 5mins earlier than the time. i think most of us doing that too.

When im back after 20 mins, i saw the summon and the time is immediately after i left the car. i look around and saw a

bunch of xxxxx at the void deck. they hid and shoot from a corner. like sniper. need to go to this extend??

To many peace maker / race harmony guys : how not to feel du lan?

For me,as a Malay guy,I do feel ashamed of my own race because I feel that those people who worked as an enforcement officers are majority malays because they are the laziest kind of people on this planet..I would rather be a toilet cleaner than earning my wages issuing summons to people..Some officers never bother to wait, they just issue the summons and run off quickly..

I admired your guts but only as far as this forum goes. I wonder if you would show your real-self and say it like you punched the keyboard here?

If you are really one, i think it is shame and a disgrace for the society to have you around. These officers are doing their job after all. If you had illegally parked your vehicle, then you deserved the summon. They have better things to do rather than attending to the childish whining that most motorist will make. If there is a case, go and appeal to the higher authorities.

having religious harmony is one thing, being fair is another. THIS IS REVERSE DISCRIMINATION!!! we cant say anything. we say smth they say we discrimination.. ""

Please be more sensitive before posting anything...especially if it involves race and religion.

One more wrong post, i am very sure ISD will come knocking on your door. We are living so harmoniously for decades and we cant afford to have individuals who open their mouth without thinking in a democratic country like Singapore.

Peace.

i tot putting a kuey tu pat in car will help? [:p]

Don't think so. Put good luck jade, etc also wont help. An offence is still an offence.

Some motorist even go to the extend to buy Police decal and paste it on their windscreen, thinking they will be free from summons. [hur]

I think one of the bro here has clarified that earlier and he mean no harm. Don't have to bring up that matter again.

But i do agree on

Agree but I was puzzled what e Criminal Procedure Code got to do with this. If u have other identification documents then no issue. But if u have none except IC (i.e non drivers) n if u have it with u but for some reasons refused to produce it when demanded then I think can be arrested. Or u got no ID with U n they may suspect U to be illegal immigrant too. Thus I always carry mine so if checked by SPF I give IC. If is TP I give driving license. Anyway do not expect every arrest case to be published in e papers n I think no publish in papers is not a valid defense.

I have never know or read in the papers of locals getting arrested for not showing IC. It is not an offence for not carrying an IC with you, just a minor inconvenience. A driving license with photo would be enough. I've been checked many times at road block and all. Yes the police will ask for both IC and driving license, but i always carry driving license only. So I just say out my NRIC number and address to them and they jot it down. No problem. After dat they just pass me back my driving license, thank me, and i'm on my way.

hrm... I wonder...

If let say, bang into or hit into a stationary car parked along double yellow line during day time, how to claim insurance ar?? Stationary vehicle parked along double yellow considered traffic offence. Under certain clause in insurance stated that if involve in accident and traffic offence is commited, the insurance company will not be held liable but the owner himself will be held liable???

Any comments??

Parked car gets ticket for illegal parking, you get ticket for unsafe driving...

simple, easy peasy lemon squeezy

Neutral Newbie

Rude? Issuing fines indescrimately? Power tripping? Exerting otherwise non-existent authority?

In civilian life they are nothing. But put them in uniform and they think they are god.

i was at budget terminal recently and saw this Cisco mat shouting at the drivers waiting for their passengers

shouting like "waiting for what" and so on

what impression will they give to the visitors

really low class

From Certis Cisco :

We wish to clarify that our EOs are required to issue a NOPO when they come across an illegally-parked vehicle during their course of duty and no grace

period is given. They are also not authorised to exercise flexibility when discharging their duties. As a control measure, our EOs are not empowered

to cancel a NOPO or abort the documentation process once it has commenced. As an organisation, Certis CISCO is also not authorised to waive the NOPO on behalf of the Traffic Police (TP).

The fine took less than a minute to issue, but it is wasting more of my time than I care to elaborate on. It's like they are given live rounds to fire without having to care/worry about the consequences/impact it has for people on the receiving end.

this is the exact same reply i got from them months ago when i appeal for a summon outside my relative's house.

Sorry just a bit puzzled. What have e CPC got to do in this incident. Thought r applicable legislation could be e National Registration Act which states that police or ICA officers can demand one who is registered under e Act (mean issued with an IC) to produce his IC for verification. Refusal to do so without valid reason is an offence which can be arrested on e spot.

But not sure if CC officers are empowered or not as if they r performing police duties then they might enjoy same powers as police.

It might help if I briefly explain what CPC is all about.

The purpose of the Criminal Procedure Code is for both the State Police Officers & Auxilliary Police Officers (APOs) to understand the sections and chapters on how to effect an arrest, and also how to charge a suspect accordingly when he/she has commited a crime.

Unlike the State Police Officers, APOs are empowered with limited jurisdiction. They can request to check a person's IC or conduct a search on a person/vehicle etc, ONLY in a restricted area protected by them, NOT in a public area.

The APOs can only ask for a person's particulars, and then further request for IC for verification. In the incident mentioned in my earlier post, the CC officer spotted me in a PUBLIC area, and he STRAIGHTAWAY asked for my IC, which is not the correct procedure. Most Auxilliary Police Officers do not understand CPC, and could have commited wrongful arrests/confinements.

P.S.: To understand more about Singapore's laws and legislations, we can refer to the Penal Code and the Criminal Procedure Code. Hope this helps. [:)]
