E-Jazz Neutral Newbie August 23, 2010 Author Share August 23, 2010 (edited) just drive normally , no need worry this worry that its a car not a toy story huggable purple bear made of fluff Haha, I thought purple is barney dinosaur? Eh, oh ya, care bear also got purple lol. Try not to start your car with aircon ,sound system. headlights on, it will lighten the amount of power needed for the initial start , hence removing unnecessary strain on your car when it needs to start. So far my batteries has last good 2 years plus with this rule. Noted. Thats what I read as well that with proper care, battery can last 2 years or slightly more. agreed, i first day collect already max the boost pressure nw coming close to 2 years still no prob, no noticible loss in power juz drive normally it will be fine Hi Bankai87, Haha just like your nickname "bankai" max boost haha. Thanks. When i get my civic few years ago, i know nuts abt run in etc, i go for my first servicing at 7000 km as i forget abt the 1k servicing, always accelerate etc, now 5 yrs liao, 100k mileage, still ok, bo tai ji. Juz keep my finger cross... Hi Curahee, Cool. haha. RTM = Read The Manual. Not joking.. but rather than hear people do their tried and error method, go and read the manual that your car come with. More then often, it will tell you how to drive, what to expect and the proper manner to do a run in. different car, different people, different manner to do run in. And don't worry too much, a car is meant to be driven.. and if u think that to rev it hard, things will fall apart, then you better be worry how this car will fall apart when u drive at high speed. So in short, just drive it as per normal. Hi Sony, ya, will be reading it surely. thanks Edited August 23, 2010 by E-Jazz
E-Jazz Neutral Newbie August 23, 2010 Author Share August 23, 2010 hi bro, i don't run in my truck when i first got it. just drive as per normal.. as they ar already run in when in the factory... at least tats wat i heard from my fren tat service cars in the AD workshop... my truck is 1.5years old liao... doing fine so far... take it east bro, try not to worry so much for your car Hi Lectrosphere, Alright. Thanks. I heard so that when the car is in the factory, they have done similar things including when it is sent to the collection point. Not sure where to confirm this though. Hi fellow, I remember when I collect my first car 4 plus years ago, the moment it left the showroom, I stopped my car in a bus stop but forget for what already. To my horror, I get out of my car without applying parking brake and the car rolled forward. Haha, lucky manage to stop it in time. So when you collect your car, please be careful. Hi Coltplussport, Wah! Okay, will really be careful especially when getting off the car. Thanks! just drive normally. need to overtake whack dont need then cruise loh. really no point taking all the care in the world. sometimes if touch wood its a lemon car you will feel even more pekchek and wished you've whacked the accelerator. some ppl take care of their car and boom things fall apart and some ppl whack and its still running fine after a decade. in short, if you are heng you are heng, if you are suay you are suay. Hi Kerebu, Haha, heng heng ah. Have chosen specific heng heng date for car collection =P a car is to serve u. not the other way round. Hi Lab4games, I like that. :)

E-Jazz Neutral Newbie August 23, 2010 Author Share August 23, 2010 (edited) So anyone knows if Kah Motors Jazz car instructional manual is in japanese or english? its gonna be weird if its in japanese for the local market... Oh yes, another one of the million question I have is: If i pump i.e grade 95 at Shell today, if tomorrow I go caltex pump 95 again, is it the same? Or I shouldn't mix and should stick to one petrol station brand? If I want to change lets say from Shell to Caltex, do I need to do any maintenance i.e oil change type of stuff? Hi Karebu, Haha, well, compared to alot of my friends, I don't know much about cars. So given that its the first car, I obviously would have tons of questions. But thanks to the bros/sis here, its all good. They have been very patient in answering my doubts and in the process when I read their chats, I gained more than just what I asked in terms of info which have serve as a good reference to read up further on. Personally, I believe in gaining more knowledge along the way in what I do. Yes, I do agree with you that I'll be laughing myself silly in years to come haha. Thanks :) Edited August 23, 2010 by E-Jazz
Shull Turbocharged August 23, 2010 Share August 23, 2010 Hi all, Its interesting to keep reading on as you guys share info. I am picking up on the go as I read on. So a big thanks in advance and especially to Ken4555, Furrynadz, Yuan and Trex101 for helping me out when I first posted in this forum. One of the questions I have now (believe me, I have more in my mind then this haha) is that being said that I am collecting my new vehicle - Honda Jazz 1.3(A)LX soon, it means that I have to do run-ins like everyone else. I read that it is recommended that for the first 500 to 1000km, short trips of less than 15minutes is best. But in my daily travel, I estimate that I will be: Starting at Sengkang, go down all the way to Novena to drop my partner off, then proceed to Clementi. So this entire trip will be way beyond 15 minutes. So should I take such daily trips right from the start? Or make my partner wait while I run-in short trips till after 500km or after 1000km before I start sending her down in long trips? Cause I am really worried that if the 15minute short trip is really crucial, running such long distance trip from the start will not do well for my run-in thus resulting in less lifespan for the vehicle. Please enlighten me with what you think? Pretty troubled here Another question is, for tyre pressure, what do you guys use to check it? How is it done, pardon me as I am still in the midst of reading up articles in car bible and other websites, so will be some time before I know even the basics. But am trying my best =) 2 school of thought for running in. The soft way or the hard way. Personally, i believe that most modern cars are already factory run in, therefore, there's really no need for us to run in again..i've chionged up to malaysia on the 2nd day i collected my Civic 2L, redlining a few times in the process..so far, after 1 year, all still goes well.. Bankai87 Neutral Newbie August 23, 2010 Share August 23, 2010 yup, if u buy frm km the manual will be in english when u collect the car, before collectign they should bring u into a room and explain to u the warranty, servicing, hwo to run in, and to pass u ur keys n service booklet the servicing intervals shd be 1k km, then 10k km, 20k km etc etc since they use synthetic... shell helix 5w40 iirc FIL drives an accord frm km.. Galantspeedz Turbocharged August 23, 2010 Share August 23, 2010 aiya just drive your car... they way you want it.... no problems.... simi hard or soft run -in.... i think is abit of BS... as for your tyre pressure... there should be a sticker on your driver's side the door there... it should indicate your correct tyre pressure... but if you change to a different tyre size or profile then the pressure required will or may be different... Yuan 6th Gear August 23, 2010 Share August 23, 2010 Another thing which I thought you should know is that don't surf car forums too much. Don't spend too much time in MCF.....Stop reading magazines like Hotstuff, Top Gear, Torque etc. You will save yourself from a lot of temptations and lots of monies from your wallet. If you want reliabilty and durability, keep your car as stock as possible. It will last you many years. ↡ Advertisement
