ESPN Latest : Kenny Huang pulls out of deal for Liverpool

Hong Kong businessman Kenny Huang has withdrawn his high-profile attempt to buy Liverpool Football Club.

Huang issued a statement on Friday saying he and his company QSL Sports were pulling out of takeover talks with the Premier League outfit.

Huang was the first party to openly declare an interest in buying the Merseysiders from Americans Tom Hicks and George Gillett, but refused to comment when it was claimed his bid was backed by the Chinese government.

Huang's statement provided no reason for his decision to pull out of negotiations.

He said: ''Over the past few months we learned first-hand that Liverpool has a very special place in the hearts of millions of fans around the world.

''We concluded that a plan that properly capitalises the business and provides funds for a new stadium and player-related costs would allow Liverpool FC to provide its great fans with the success they deserve.

''Our strategy and unique ability to expand the fanbase in Asia would also have been of benefit to all. We regret that we will not have the opportunity to implement this strategy.

''We thank the many Liverpool fans who expressed support for our efforts and wish the club great success in the years to come. I am now considering my future options and will be making no further comment at this time.''

It was reported earlier this week that Huang was growing impatient with the Anfield board, who are carrying out due diligence on a number of bids received.

Huang's bid to buy Liverpool from its American owners is thought to have valued the club at around

He will be back! he just doesn't want to pay 800 million.

When the loan is up and owners have to repay, the price will

drop.

Huang always said he want to put money in the club and not

profits for owners. :D

What can you expect from a chairman who is a lifelong Chelsea fan? To have our interest at heart? My toes are laughing.

He better get us a better owner than Huang.

I urge for calmness.

Broughton, no doubt a Chelsea fan, has one hell of a reputation to uphold. He would not dare to fcuk us up because that will be a huge blemish on his CV. Broughton is appointed by RBS to oversee the sales of the club and once that's done, he will leave.

Huang, no doubt an ideal owner to have (if is backing is true), might have pulled out to save face because he knows his bid is not the front runner.

I do not mind missing out this transfer window for Broughton and co. to choose the best owner, in terms of long term sustainability and getting the new stadium built.

Stay calm, stay cool.

Its the added interest of $2.5million pound per week if not sold........ [sweatdrop]

Broughton is applying the delay tactics maybe to help out the yankees to get more $$$$........ Now he backfired and there are still time (7 days) for SG, Torres, DK to ask for transfer should no takeover and fund inject in to Liverpool..... [sly]

Relax bro. Yes, the debt will swell to close to 300m by Oct 6 and that's the worse case scenario. By then, RBS will call in the debt and the Yanks will possibly walk away with nothing as the bank will take any offer at 300m. Hence, it is in the Yanks' interest that they let go before that deadline. Also, Broughton is NOT obliged to help the Yanks to get maximum profit. He is only obliged to get Liverpool FC the best new owner.

Rest assured that SG, Torres for for that matter, nobody is going to leave before this window closes. Roy is already done with the players out, now he is working on the players in.

Take a deep breath, relax. As I have said before, take all media reports with a pinch of salt.
