Lester Neutral Newbie August 20, 2010 Share August 20, 2010 Hi all I got a set of GPS/GSM alarm system installed on my car. I frequent Malaysia often. Anyone has any advise which telco's SIM card i should get. The primary function for this SIM card is in the event if the car is stolen (most likely in Malaysia if it happens), the GSm/GPS unit will send sms alerts to my handphone. I am undecided if I should get a SGp or MY SIm card and which telco provider? Anyone? Thanks. ↡ Advertisement
Perlionex Neutral Newbie August 20, 2010 Share August 20, 2010 I'd recommend Singtel Redpac supplementary plan. The cheapest option amongst all that I checked. You'll probably be doing most of your SMS testing in Singapore, so a Singapore telco makes the most sense. It will still roam in Malaysia.

Lester Neutral Newbie August 21, 2010 Author Share August 21, 2010 (edited) But no one in the family is a Singtel subscriber. We are all under M1 or Starhub. Edited August 21, 2010 by Lester
Tinahogard Neutral Newbie August 25, 2010 Share August 25, 2010 Hi In-Car Entertainment, sometimes referred to as ICE, is a collection of hardware devices installed into automobiles, or other forms of transportation, to provide audio and/or audio/visual entertainment, as well as automotive navigation systems. This includes playing media such as CDs, DVDs, Freeview/TV, USB and/or other optional surround sound, or DSP systems. Also increasingly common in ICE installs are the incorporation of video game consoles into the vehicle.
Lester Neutral Newbie August 25, 2010 Author Share August 25, 2010 It's about the cost of a normal 2 way alarm set here in SGP. I brought it in from China. If you were to buy something similar locally, it will be about 600 upwards.

Lester Neutral Newbie August 27, 2010 Author Share August 27, 2010 China, non branded, model is 91119. Plain box, instructions manual attached, installation done with the assistance of a friend. Not easy, hell lot of wiring to sort out and splice into. Took both of us about 6 hours to install overnight. Afraid I do not have pics to share as there is nothing else to see except the remote controls and the LED blinker and the emergency overwrite button.
