Turbocharged

Just joined the forum and thought I might share my mistress with everyone. She's a 1995 series 1 R33 GTR V-Spec N1 (N1 being the same variant used for Nissan Group A racing). I was told by a trusted source that only 98 R33 N1s were built. Below is some difference between the standard GTR and the N1.

Very nice R33.. I think the R33s and R34s are incredible machines.

Ran into one Malaysian R34 (think Kedah or Perak registered). Totally cannot catch when that fella punched it.

Thanks dude. The GTRs are great cars and way ahead of their time in the 90s. I would love to have a 34 NUR or even N1 but the 33 is growing in me.

Way ahead of their time back then but way outdated now. Why not upgrade to the new GTR instead?? Go try one of the new GTR and u will know the difference..

Firstly I dont have that kinda money to buy the new GTR. And even if I do, I will get a Mines 34 GTR, 34 NUR or N1. Never will I spend that kinda money on a mass production car.

Secondly, I doubt any car of the same price range (even double that) as mine will even keep up with me.

The car scene here is totally different from SG. Its more of Evo, Rex, Civics etc for SG because theres no market for cars like Supra, GTR or Rotarys. My friend's FD already got rebuilt twice in SG and he reckon nobody in SG and even Malaysia can do it better than Aus.

The current GTR is catered to a different audience and yes I agree its a totally different car comparing to the previous generation (which is why Nissan ditched the Skyline word in it).

Maybe you can look at some of the track records here or around the world and compare. I got the car because I wanna track it, not because I a dyno queen or a show car. N1 is a homologation model and is in the prefer catagory of race.

which part of aust?

melboure? [:p]

Brisbane but got a mate down in Melb that drives a 32R on this forum too.

Not sure about Australia, but you can get a good Twin turbo Supra & GT-R at slightly more than S$10k in U.K.

used car: Supra & Skyline

Had a look there, the only RZ (1993 model) I saw was 6500pound which is around 13k AUD. Thats about the same as what we get here.

Do a search on www.carsales.com.au

A good late model twin turbo Supra here still around $20k+ AUD. 32R around $15k AUD, 33R around $23k AUD and 34R around $45k AUD. But be mindful, these are only base model. The rare and limited edition GTRs still command very high price. An example is Mines 34R (100k?), Stock N1 (100k?), 34 M-spec/V-spec2 NUR (80k?) and of course, 34R Ztune (150k?).

Skyline is always sweet! nice number plate!

Hahaha. Thanks. This type of plate/combination only cost an additional 390 on top of registration when I bought the plate and thats a 1 of payment.

Got the driver's side arm rest wrapped in 3M vinyl last week. Looks good!

Unfortunately other than that, my other mod cannot be seen. I just rebuilt the gearbox and upgraded the clutch to Nismo Super Coppermix Twinplate.

Will be going to the club's drag day this weekend. More pictures to come!

The drag day was nice with 7 runs and managed to learn how to launch the car. Did 12.8s @ 175.64km/h. I reckon the actual time would be closer to mid 12s with better launch and throttle control. Overall was a nice day and good variety of cars. The 35GTR ran 11.2s and the SLK55 AMG did 13s flat. That AMG was the one which I dragged on highway before too so it was nice to know what 1/4mile it did.

Heres a couple taken by my friend (very lazy) and a link to all others taken by a professional photographer.

Good stuff. I forgot whats the min post but you should be alright now. I think it's 10.

I've always got a soft spot for kitted S15 and FD. So sleek and sexy but a cop magnet and will need to be illegal to look good... Do post some pics of it up!

We should do a road trip to Melbourne someday! Only thing is your fuel's probably gonna cost more than the plane ticket. Hahaha. My mate's with a series 8 FD told me full tank (including spare, 75L?) gives him around 350km only!
