I think so la... the calculation above is just blanket averages based on reported figures.

But the atheletes and VIPs sure have better food:

athletes' meals are not necessary better food. mostly certified by nutritionist for high energy activities, not the normal food which you would appreciate.

VIPs no need to say, confirm better one.

Funny how everyone just embraced the picture as real! Don't you need to verify its source, especially when it come from hardwarezone? Even some people there are now questioning the authenticity of the picture.

This show either we are very gullible, or we are just happy got something to hamtam the government again. How pathetic! Government report something, always questions and doubts. But 'layman' put up something, just accept it and add oil and add sauce. How funny rite some of us are?!

My cousin will be starting her volunteering work for YOG soon. I will check with her on this [laugh][laugh]

now that some phone company is sponsoring the phones, it is no longer material whether it is iphone 10, iBoard or HTC Desire 1000

That does not absolve you from any sinister intention. And this forum must take some responsibility too, it has been too long.

I do hope the YOG ppl would take some action but how much can they get from these ppl, a la-mrchong!

don say forum, media article (http://www.straitstimes.com/BreakingNews/Sport/Story/STIStory_564710.html) don even report that the phones were sponsored by Samsung [;)] just simply state:

"Upon their arrival, they were each given a pre-paid transport card and a Samsung smart phone pre-loaded with an application that allows users to receive YOG-related content and services.

South African hockey player Jacinta Jubb, 17, said: 'I was blown away by how much stuff we were given.'

For Nick Fransman, 18, lunch proved to be the highlight of the day.

The variety of food available at the dining hall includes Asian and European cuisine, pasta and seafood, and allowed the Dutch shuttler to try a bit of everything.

But the biggest cheers were reserved for the air-conditioned rooms.

Malaysian swimmer Kevin Lim, 18, said: 'It's amazing. Usually if you stay in a hostel, you won't expect air-conditioning. What I've seen so far has exceeded my expectations.'"

[shakehead] absolutely no consideration for public sentiment [shakehead]

smart volunteers will go out 'da pau' lah....

who bothers to eat their food man???

The volunteers at my side get slightly "better" food. They are issued with 1 meal voucher daily. But pity them as most are small kids in poly year 1.
