Recently I just bought a dyson vacuum cleaner and was surprise to that the motor spin @ about 104000 rpm which can match the rpm of some turbos. Its a handheld vacuum so I dun think it draw much current (got to check). So I did some research and found this article (http://www.electronicsweekly.com/Articles/2003/10/15/30961/dyson-sweeps-up-vacuum-cleaner-market-with-100000rpm.htm) claiming that it is capable of producing 4.3PSI which is about 0.3bar. Some websites references states that every PSI will increase the power by 7% (need to verify) so 4.3PSI will increase the car performance by 30%.

Wat is ur take on this?? [rolleyes]

Which is also one of the reason why these vaccum cleaners have very high wattage rating. ~1000W to > 2000W.

What is the watt rating of your dyson vaccum cleaner?

At the end of the day you need power to compress suficient air to mantain a decent PSI for your car engine. a regular supercharger maybe needs 10-15bhp to run, so your 200w or 0.3 bhp vacuum motor wont cut it. You need a system like this have an electric supercharger to work Thomson Knight . These guys have been there & done that.

the house runs on AC 220v 13 amp power and the car runs on 12v DC donno how many amp power

i don think the car's alternator can churn out the same amount of power that the power source in our home have

Vacuum cleaner sounds possible.

Can it run non stop for they way we drive, say 1-2 hours under hot sun.

Next, question is water proofinging.

Another question is bulky.

There are 12/24 V DC axial fan for marine application which I had used before, very powerful and compact.

So much air that my previous 2.0L picnic can only use the 3" model. when I upgraded to a 4" model, engine connect take it-- too much air-- cannot start.

Throttle response was faster.

Best of all Cheap

Now outside. Will take a piture of it when return home. The fan is collecting dust.

dun know how it will fit current car?

Made by Jabsco, marine electric pumps and blower co.

So can get from Marine supplier. For me I get it from Telok Kurau, few shops away from the famous Beach Road Prawn Noodle.

At around $30-40. (few years ago price). ducting and stainless steel clamps from Kelantan lane, another $20-30.

I use inconjuction with a washable air filter ( going to be dirty faster than the rest). and installed before the air filter, in case fan damaged, parts will be stopped by air filter and not fly into engine.

Some of my friend did a on off switch so they can choose when to turn it on,

http://www.jabsco.co.uk/marine/blowers/140...-12-volt-dc.htm

fan sound noisy without ducting. Once ducting installed on both ends, and seated properly, the fan sound is muffled.

It is reversible. Dun like can remove, and low cost.

But it may not please everybody.

This is just to share what my experience.

No answer to ur first 2 questions. But in terms of size, it is smaller compared to the conventional ones and they are using neodymium magnets. More info abt the dyson motor!!
