Just went to Aldan for normal servicing and was advised to change brake pads, brake rotor n timing belt coz all got problems. Paid $700 for all. Reasonable?

But never see any Skoda taxi there at all...change alrdy?

Still safe to go Aldan, rite?

By the way, has been seeing a lot more Skoda on the road since I was back. Am very happy abt this. Feel free to give a friendly hoot when see me on the road, fellow skodians!

Yup... They had a parting of ways with prime taxi company, that is why they don't do skodas anymore. Btw let me know if anyone of you need another workshop for servicing skodas... Their ex workshop supervisor has joined another setup that can offer just as good servicing. Will pm if asked...

What I gathered - Aldan terminated the contract to service Premier's fleet of Skoda taxis. Bad debt, taxi operator insisting the use of inferior parts on the taxis but Aldan has to rectify the issues etc. In short, no value to support a large fleet when the margins are pressed down by a taxi operator.

I have been service by Aldan for quite awhile. But recently, I find their service standard has drop and the price is not cheap. Same as Ommph, they advice me to change a lot of parts which cost me close to $2K as of today. The last time my ignition coil has problem, they try to replace a 2nd hand coil for me to save cost, But it broke down in 1 week. They charge me $96. for that 2nd hand coil.

Tired of their service, I decided to try Autospritez, they replace another 2nd hand coil for me. THey charge me only $20 !!! Unfortunately, the problem came back. They do a check and find that the other 3 ignition coil also is failing. They charge me $98 per coil to replace 4 new coil. As per above post by Beanoyip, Aldan charge him $130 per coil !

Its time for me to switch workshop.

Wow....seems a real drop in standard then. They did not have the time to replace my timing belt yesterday so need to drive there for replacement today.

But I realized Aldan is using 4L of Lexus engine oil for my ride. I tot ours is 5L n wat is this Lexus engine oil? Anyone heard before??

Think I will PM Fisheye for another workshop.

I think Aldan is shortage of manpower or experience worker. For them to change my 1 single ignition coil, I need to leave my car there and collect in the evening. I need to spend extra money for my taxi fare. While Autospritz just take half an hour to complete the job.

So far, my first experience with Autospritz is good. I saw a lot of benz coupe, audi coupe service by them.

Okie Guys, I hear you all, I have replied bro Tashi via PM this morning only to discover that I can only send out 1 PM a day!! gosh.. so inorder not to complicate things, carry on reading :D

Since Alan from Aldan had left to join another establishment, I have not gone back to Aldan for servicing, so I'm surprised that the service standard has dropped. After losing their cash cow, I would have thought, they would instead improve their service standards as now they need their regular customers more than ever. Anyway, here's the contact.

Alan, formerly from Aldan, has joined Tan Chong's parallel car import servicing workshop Autoclinic. His workshop is located in the same building as Toa Payoh Nissan service centre in Lorong 8 (next to the Subaru showroom) Drive through the main gate and inform the guard that you are going to Autoclinic. Once the barrier is raised, drive straight thru. Autoclinic is located at the back of the building.

For those of you who had your cars serviced under Alan, you would know that he is meticulous with the cars that come into his workshop. They now have a specialist mechanic from Japan doing continentals but he's specifically trained to service VAG supercars. (I leave it to you to discover his expertise)... Good thing is if you do not have time during the weekday to send your car down, you can call him and set an appointment for the evenings. His workshop is open till 10pm by appointment only.

When you are there, mention that the Gold Superb recommended him. He'll know who...

Address : Toa Payoh lorong 8 Nissan Service centre. (next to Subaru showroom)

I'm gonna try out another workshop recently opened by some of the Vagsg forummers in Toh Guan. Need to rectify a "Boost Pressure regulation: range not reached" VCDS code 16683. [bigcry] [bigcry] Will let you know of my experience.

Seems like Lexus oil is targeting many ws.

that "sengkang" ws at AMK area also using this oil.

maybe profit margin is higher.

Hi bro, yes they do... It's for regular servicing and parts changeout and if your car is less than 5 years old, you can purchase a service contract with them. Ask Alan for details. Sadly... Mine is just pass 5 yrs. Btw... Saw ur ride driving intothe drop off point at Rochester park about 2-3 mths ago... I'm actually staying in one of the pt blks directly behind.
