Stopped by car infront when light goes green

I've been frequently encountering this wierd situation lately. From a distance, I noticed the traffic light in front was red and slowed down. There was already a car stopped at the traffic light in front of me. As my car approach the car in front, the light turned green. The car in front would not move till I come to a full stop behind it though there should be ample time for him to move off. I could see that the driver of the car in front is waiting for me to stop as he was looking through his rear view mirror. Have you all encounter the same ?

Horn the car. maybe the driver is sleeping:D

At first I thought that too... or the driver maybe reading something, but I found it wierd because the driver is looking at his rear view mirror waiting for me to stop. It happened a couple of times , which I took notice latlely.

oh, some of these drivers are rigged with a 3 second delay fuse. some sort of safety mechanism.

never encountered such incident, but always meet those ball-less drivers who always tap break to slow down at junction when the light is green for no reason (the road ahead of them is clear). Maybe their driving instructors never taught them properly that green = go, amber = slowdown/speedup, red = stop.

Always slow down a little when approaching a traffic junction, regardless of what light it is. You never know what might happen.

Some idiot might just beat the red light from the other side and side-swipe you.

Maybe the driver is hoping that you rev and bang into him, then can claim compensation.

Agreed man..... even when I'm approaching slowly sometimes I still have to come to a complete stop before the front vehicle starts moving off. [confused] [confused] [confused] Happened more than a couple of times already.

Agreed, happens to me too.

Veer off topic a bit, another irritating thing is when the car in front stops at the red light with one car's length space in front of him. Then he or she starts inching and stopping, bit by bit. Buay tahan!!
