I alway do mine at Hawk Tayar JB Southern City.

I find that local tyres shops are not keen to do high-speed balancing for my cheap ride. Likely reserve this service for high-value customers.

One even rebutted "Singapore speed limit 90 kmh, why must high-speed balancing ?"

I paid 2x@RM20 [highspeed balancing] + [email protected] [normal balancing] + tax = RM54.60

* they are quite obliging, remove the rear drum cover to blow out the dust.

I tend to feel some slight vibrations at front of the car at 100~110 kmh. But the steering wheel is still steady. Checked various possible causes, no avail. Maybe the wheel/tire/driveshaft not well balanced, especially mine is a basic car. High speed balancing help to reduce the vibrations.

Personally, it is not a matter who to support. Rather, whether SG tyres shops want to entertain me and do high speed balancing. I felt they reserve for their high-value customers. So no choice I go the JB tyre shop for the high speed balancing. And will continue to change 4 new tyres with them for the 2nd time in Nov'2010. Now this is mutual support. Just my personal choice and viewpoint.

Neutral Newbie

A few months ago, I went to Stamford tyres at Tuas to do high speed balancing before the malaysia trip as I felt slight vibrations above 100km/h.

The technician asked me if my tyres are Hankook and I said yes. Then he touch the contours of my tyres and said that my tyres contour is not smooth. I touched the contour and felt a bit rough and asked him whether is this normal, he said this normally happened to hankook tyres. He touched the contour of a sunny tyres beside me and asked me to feel it, true enough the sunny bridgestone tyes are very smooth. He said doing high speed balancing for my tyres is no point. Has any bro experienced this?

I still like my hankook K415 tyres despite the above coz I felt that hankook tyres has much better wet grip than my previous bridgestone GR80 tyres and more lasting.
