When you say your car is quite old, I presume that it should be more than 3 years and the mileage should be more than 75k....I think the 5W40 should be fine to use and Imdemtisu is quite alright. Have you sent your car down to workshop for checking?

my car is 5yrs old with 116K on the clock.

have been sending to the same workshop and they said this is alright. just want to be sure that this is a norm. and usually FC will rise after 6k mark

how about adding a can of oil treatment at 5k ?

normally if EO is of a certain quality no need oil treatment

When my car was 4yrs old at 120K KM, I did a top overhaul. The amount of sludge and dirt that sits on the piston, valves, intake are just unbelievable..

Did that and you will your engine will be good as new...

my FC improve by 1 notch and no heavy feeling even after 15K. me using Voltronics EO 5/40.

and my ride was Opel Astra.

clearing carbon n such every now and then helps keep the engine healthy also. prolong periods driving at <3k will harm the engine and den sludges will form will piston will not be able to work OT anymore
