I remembered a friend ever picked this song in her final inter department singing contest. She was working as a RN at QE back then. Came in third overall.

Haha i don't understand a word of canto.

Never knew who she was before few months ago. I've heard piao xue before but just assumed it was Anita Mui or someone.

The lyrics are so poetic. And her voice + the melody.

you are not wrong, anita mui sang the same song but different title and lyric.

I know right. I thought they were like written and composed by same person and then part of a pair of songs.

Someone should just open a pub that just blast 80/90s Chinese / Canto songs. Sure able to attract a lot of nostalgic crowds.

Sometimes I marvel at these singers of years past.

The lyrics are so complicated and poetic. Just not forgetting a line during live performance is not easy siah.

Its really like 背唐诗三百首。

林夕 is a talented lyrist.

It is due to change in market that we don't see similar style again.

This is 1 of his current work which i googled.

In hk it is rare (non existent) to find a 口水bar blasting Cantonese melody. Most of such bar play old English classic.
