I did mine at SGD100 only. Oracle Gloss Black.

Looks like sprayed on.

But if you were to tear out, what's the impact?

No impact. Paint will be intact. Infact, people always stick around bumper area to prevent small rocks to hit their car. Good for those that always go up north.

hmm my two cents: why care so much about ppl's views? if u're thinking of it and rly like it, just go for it. i quite like the black top with white base myself.

Glossy black, i am not a fan of MATT :D

But just like to have some inputs whether people find it rice to do that, it's acceptable to me but i just wanna seek a public view, in case next time sell car, nobody want :(

The Lexus u shown got a black roof becoz its panaromic. The M3 is because of the Carbon Fibre thingy to save weight. No much point being black for the sake of being black as black absorbs heat readily, which is something the panaromic and Carbon fibre roof has not taken into consideration much for our climate. Those are more for temperate regions.

Nice or not is subjective to buyer but for a compact executive saloon, its better to keep things neat and tidy.

Go ahead...But must polish till bling bling after spray hor.

Polishing new sprayed paint has been rumored to not last the gloss shine.

It gives a smoother touch after polishing but not as gloss as when it's first sprayed.

Any myth buster on this?

Normally after spray painting, the workshop will polish and sand the surface till it is even. Most will be using a rotary buffer for this step and most of the time it causes holograms and lots of swirls marks.

But why you cant see all these is because the polish or glaze they used will mask these imperfections. After a while when you bring your car for a wash, the holograms or swirls will appear. (especially under sun light)

You will need to bring your car to a detailer to removes these defects.

If I have a black car, would sticking entire roof with a fully covering sheet of glossy bright silver sticker make the ride cooler ?

I assume you are referring to the chrome silver kind. My understanding is that there could be material problems with those kind of sticker as they are not made of your usual kind of vinyl. Eats into your paintwork or something like that.

Can't find any reference of black cars with silver roof.

Black on chrome looks nice.

Closest sample as below.

Thanks Bros, I googled prev, and the tester tested a black and a white car. The white car was cooler based on readings. A few degrees . But again that's paint. But if its just sticker., unsure.

I have some decals chrome type since new. Never tried peeling off so unsure if it eats into paint. But 8 yrs back was advised chrome ones cost more than regular colours. But for my roof, was thinking more of light/glossy silver.

Was also thinking if doing the same would help for bonnet? cooler bay?

Purpose is for a cooler ride in the day & cool down faster after getting into a car that has been parked in the sun for hours.
