He is still playing the media games. Telling the media that Torres and Masch is not responding will result into ppl thinking that this 2 player dont want to stay at the club and trying to do a Alonso(pulling out of liverpool at the last min leaving liverpool little time to react.)

 

Mascherano was the only one who was not responding during his holidays. Roy was very diplomatic and told the press that he was not expecting Masch to respond as he was on holiday. Roy will have a better time with the media compared to Rafa. He being an English and having a better command of the language will help.

 

As for Torres, he told the press that Torres is looking forward to come back, meaning he was still contactable. Torres will stay, I have no doubt about it.

 

Alonso never left the club little time to react. He left Rafa knew about his intention at the end of the last season he had with us. Just that it was not made official. There were a long negotiation with RM if I am not wrong on his transfer fee.

I would like to collect all 3 as well. First season with StanChart so these 3 jerseys would be more valuable compared to the subsequent released.

 

I am also collecting the last season jerseys, being the last with Carlsberg. Anyone know where I can still get the white one?

Impossible. He can certainly not go to the media to talk about it but he cannot stop the media from asking about it.

 

He needs to chair the news conference frequently. For this case, he revealed Torres' intention during the press conference when the 3 news signings were unveiled to the press officially. I am not sure whether he mentioned it voluntarily or in response to a reporter's question. Will try to view the video when I get the chance.

 

If reporter asked and he kept quiet, it will only fuel their imagination which might make it worse. It might not be good for Torres as well. Say if he indicated that he would like to stay and but the manager did not even want to relay that to the press. Torres might feel that the club really might be contemplating to sell him.
