Mini-itx Clutched July 26, 2010 Share July 26, 2010 You failed to obey road signs/markings and caused an accident. Thus LLST..... bo pian. No point trying to blame him for not checking his blind spot. Just pay for the damages. If call TP, I think you will kana demert pts as well. ↡ Advertisement

Picanto 3rd Gear July 26, 2010 Share July 26, 2010 Hi folks, Just want a bit of advice. Had an accident at the cross junction between serangoon road and balestier road. I was at the leftmost lane and only realised that it was a left turning lane only after filtering into it. I went straight because I didn't want to turn into lavender street and a car on my right knocked into my side. The lane on my right is left turning and go straight as well. I know it was wrong of me to go straight. I asked the driver whether he checked his blind spot before turning left and he said it was not necessary to check. Is that true? I know I'm in the wrong but I believe he is also in the wrong. Please advice. Also, any recommendation on panel beating? Just in case we settle privately. Thanks! only a stupid driver will want to settle privately with you. i think he will claim your insurance and premiums will rise for you. no case for you. admit it and move on. Never take theory test before? Trying to go straight on a lane that only allows left turn? This kind of thing also dare to ask here? Eh, better surrender your driving licence to TP HQ before you surrender IC to god.

Onlyyouknow Neutral Newbie July 26, 2010 Author Share July 26, 2010 Firstly, I already said its my fault for going straight. I didn't deny it. But I just want to verify whether you need to check your blindspot before turning on the second lane since its a going straight as well as a left turning lane. I never said I will be denying responsibility. I needed advice, not bashing guys! Thanks for those responded to the question.

Thanks for those responded to the question. if you are only asking on checking the blind spot. even if you are on a left turn lane you need to check the blink spot for bikes. but you are still wrong in trying to go straight on a left turn only lane. By the book, even merging lanes need to check, as long as your vehicle is not going straight you need to check.

You should Admit that u r fully in the wrong. How can you go straight when u r in a left turn lane? Common sense isn't it?
Keavze 1st Gear July 26, 2010 Share July 26, 2010 i think TS is asking whether the other car should check his blindspot... if the left lane is turning left only and i'm on the 2nd most left lane going straight or turning left; i won't check my left blindspot, i'll simply just go straight... the other car is not wrong not to check blindspot; who'll expect a car that's suppose to turn left to go straight instead? usually the car in the wrong will have to do more blindspot checks... no offence, personal views only. Krado Clutched July 26, 2010 Share July 26, 2010 But I just want to verify whether you need to check your blindspot before turning on the second lane since its a going straight as well as a left turning lane. Yes, if he did, he would have noticed someone with a total disregard to the safety of other road users heading straight on a left-turn only lane. He could had stopped in time for that someone to break the law and get away with it. But too bad, both of you hit each other. History cannot be rewritten. ↡ Advertisement
