actually technically it is useful you know. When your environment is suddenly subjected to decompression, some flap(s) in your head actually closes. Eustachian channels maybe? When you perform this act, you sort of re-open those channels. I remember doing this as a child when i was onboard flights during travels.

I know I have a lot of skills which are practically useless, at least in my daily life, but can't recall offhand.

 

Four things I can remember are:

 

1) I learnt how to colour hair in younger days in HK and could do it quite well, but it is practically useless because I am not a hairstylist and do not intend to work in this line

 

2) I used to be able to blow beautiful smoke rings (I've since quit smoking)

 

3) I can shoot rubber bands at objects very accurately. Again not of any use in normal life.

 

4) I can mimic the buzzing of several different types of bees and wasps fairly closely (yes, different species sound different!)

Hey... didn't get what you meant at first, then after reading your posts I realized I know what you mean!

 

My method of closing it is the opposite, pinching the nose and blowing it in a certain manner. To open it, by swallowing hard or opening the mouth suddenly.

 

Sometimes if my nose is blocked I have to "open" it every now and then.

I can sense anyone switching on the TV anywhere within the house. There were a few times when I came home and no one was in, I could sense TV was on. Walked around and checked the TV in all the rooms, true enough, my brother left the TV on but with the SCV off. (The TV was on but with no image and sound, but I can sense the frequency coming out from it.)

 

Very often, when I am in my room with my door close, I can sense my family members switching on their TV, even before the sound coming out from the TV. Definitely a useless skill to me... Anyone else experience the same thing as me?

i can do card magic that makes the man buy me free jugs of beer. While the woman would be impress and ask for the same skills with fingers not on cards but . Anyway i have been using the same sets of skills for 8 yrs and im sick of it. Anyway wanna trade skills

yea..its super irritating when i have a bad flu...sometimes it can affects my hearing like i m listening to someone talking with a ear plug on...haha...

 

humm heres another useless skill...i can walk around my house with my eyes closed...and when i am approaching a wall in a silent room i can hear that the wall is infront of me...some how like the air sound became dull and stuff haha...
