Opel17 6th Gear July 22, 2010 Share July 22, 2010 Was informed by the cashier at casino that SG/PR was not allowed to use debit/credit card for casino chips. I believe those ATMS in MBS can allow cash advance withdrawals for credit cards. Of course there is an admin fee and immediate interest "clocking". Actually, the casino should allow debit card, because debit card account function like ATM card, there are funds already present in the accounts. Except that the debit card allow you to sign for purchases [eg. shop, restaurant, etc...], ATM card how to sign. ↡ Advertisement

SimonTan 2nd Gear July 22, 2010 Share July 22, 2010 Protect locals? How much can charged to a credit card? Most limit is $5k. If the debt is not cleared next month, the credit card limit will be reduced to zero. Like this call protect? Might as well limit us from buying expensive inflated cars! What a joke this rule. Kwchan 1st Gear July 22, 2010 Share July 22, 2010 may be they don't want to pay the 2+% credit card charge to the bank, just like those shop in sim lim prefer you to pay in cash/nets
Tunge 1st Gear July 22, 2010 Share July 22, 2010 Perhaps is MBS policy instead of govt policy? Quite simple - you know that CC charge the merchant a commission right? And that chips amount to cash, so really easy for me...go buy $5,000 of chips on card, change $5k to cash, pay off card. MBS must give me $5k, but from the bank they only get (probably) $4,850 - they are out of pocket by $150... Bank dun care though as whatever points I earn, they cover the cost of from the commission paid by MBS.... thinking along the same line as u too... basically the value of the chip is equal to the cash u r exchanging it for, makes no sense to be able to use credit card to exchange for chips cos of service charges incured, i'm assuming nets also cannot, all cash transactions... can people who go to overseas casino verify that credit cards can be used to "buy" chips
