You mean you haven't bought one ? You are really low income ! [:p] JOKE only hor...

But Seriously... why everyone want to stay in Condo ?

Swimming pool - cost = $10/mth

Gym - cost = $60/mth

clubhouse/function room - cost (if go K-Box = $400/yr

Tenni court - cost (if play 4 times/mth = $30/mth

BBQ - cost of BBQ in East coast = ??

The cost is estimate if use the public facilities...

For all the above you pay $$1150psf - or U$1.5mil (for same 5 room flat).

In Singapore, a House is not a HOME but an Investment... sad really sad...

cannot count everything in dollars n cents lidat. it's like why u pay for car when taking a bus is cheaper? most condo dwellers dun buy a condo becoz they dun hv to content wif urine smell in the lift, litter all over the postbox, dirt stains on common areas, loud mahjong or karaoke, door-to-door salesman, loanshark art, etc.

Sounds like that credit card commercial.

Privacy/Social status/"Face" - Priceless

for everything else, you have the materialistic Singapore culture.

Aaaaaaaaaaaaanyway. The place you live in is home. The second place and thereafter you bought is investment.

Tell me about it. My house downstairs Playground is now a Mini Little India (Mini as in all the kids).

I don't mind at all, as long as there are no Bangla/ah tiongs drinking alcohol there.

It seems the Indian FT like the East Coast area from Meyer road to Changi...

Timely reminder.

The last 4 bullet points are worth a read if you find it too wordy.

it also says those earn 5k and above with 100k p++ savings then can afford maybe 5 room executives and below. then those below that income range like myself not much saving sleep in the streets?? wtf [hur]

Yah I read that article too.

So there are now close to 400,000 Indian nationals working in SG.

Question is, why so many and still growing?

What's wrong there in India? Jobs no enough ... or got jobs, but money no enough?

Purely for economic / wealth creation reasons?

This does not take into account their even-larger numbers already in the USA, UK, Europe, Australia etc.

If there are 400,000 Indian FTs, there should be at least 1 million PRCians. Why don't you pose the same questions for PRCians?

I think cause that boils down to work capablitites. the latter are better.
