My Hope for MCF Marketplace

I don't know about you guys, but I kind of miss the old buy-sell section.

The current Marketplace is flooded with ads by workshops and vendors and while I can understand that those are helpful to some, it takes away the flavour of the individual seller-buyer space that I like so much. Now just clicking into Marketplace and seeing practically all sections flooded with ads by companies puts me off from browsing.

No longer what it used to be, that's for sure. I'm sure some forumers are happy about it, but I'm not one of them. My vote goes to having a separate space for individuals to transact.

[:(]

I tried to put up a few ads last few days, and they were all deleted with a message from admin team that they are of commercial purpose.

I was just trying to sell off car speakers from a scraped avante in august (belongs to my gf), my own amps (intend to upgrade, even some of the pictures of my ice are in old ICE section, not sure whether they still exist), emanage bought some time ago and not using because I am on unichip and cannot fins a tuner to install into my aveo, the used air filter from the scraped avante.

All my efforts were wasted. Haiii, really miss the old garage sale section. Now its all flooded with ads from same few advertisors, actually why not just combine their ads into a thread each from each merchant. Save spaces and easier for users to see and find things to buy. I used to be meeting people here to buy and sell almost every week. This week buy, use test not fun already sell. A much cheaper way than to everytime buy brand new to try. Now seems more difficult.

I have notified the guys in charge of the marketplace about this thread, and so they are watching it.

Do put all constructive suggestions here, and we will take note and try to improve accordingly. But of course, the suggestions will be taken up selectively.

MCF can implement 2 marketplace. One for companies, one for individuals.

if really implement this way will the workshop or companies try to get away by posting as individuals to save advertising cost? thats how i felt

i would agree a seperate place for private buyers and sellers.

i have bought a few items from individuals before thru the marketplace of previous MCF as it was much easier to browse.

but now i hardly bother to go to marketplace as it seems to be mostly workshops and 1 workshop 100 items, 100 seperate ads, abit irritating.

Thanks for the feedback.

Meanwhile, just to check, whether do you use the search function to search for the particular products that your are looking for?

or are you just leisure surfing with no particular type of items in mind?

Alternatively, do you have any other suggestions for us to improve on for the benefits of all users?

For me. Sometime leisure surfing to see if there is any interest sometimes with a specific purpose.

Eg: I was looking to change tyres, browsing tyre section, found a fellow mcfer selling a almost new set of 4 x 17" eagle f1 tyres made in Germany. I bought from him at $300+ if I rem correctly. Reason for him selling was wrong profile. Not looking at specific model of tyres but tyres in general.

If I were to do a search now, I think mostly workshop ads will come out.

Hi, in response to some of the feedback received, we have made changes to the marketplace.

"Direct sellers" can now be easily identified with a ownertag.png tag.

Hope you guys like this new feature.
