I took part in it once and won 250k.

Then there was this winners' draw. Believe it or not, I won the grand jackpot of 500k.

and then I woke up.

Usually the envelope will contain a "car key".

I keep in my car, and use to dig out stone/gravel stuck in the tyres.

Turbocharged

I think Reader's Digest management hired their marketing team from Nigeria....hence the similiarity in style.

Anyone knows what the lucky draw or sweep stake is all about.

They've been doing this since forever. Stupid gold keys, or coins or special lottery certificates are just little gimmicks to may u play a more active role in the process and hopefully draw you in because of the "effort" you've put into the "game".

I sent lots in as a kid (my parents used to subscribe to it), and that's more than a decade ago. Looks like they're still at it.

RD have been using this sweepstake thingy for years! And I think some first time subscribers have been fooled by it - I was, many years ago. So gullible and naive then - stupid me! [knife]

Very befitting. Good idea.

Neutral Newbie

What a pity, RD used to be a reputable magazine, I stopped subscription after they start sending me the lucky draw letters.
