Neutral Newbie

Hi pjoanna,

I install my GPS with my own audio shop mechanic.

I'm using Marbella 500S which I bought 2 week ago during the IT show.

For the front and rear camera, I'm using BlackVue DR500GW-HD with the Full HD video quality meets the smart Wi-Fi, you can watch the Live and Recorded Video through Wireless Freedom! You don't need an in-built screen or taking out the memory card to watch the recorded video. You can watch the video or perform the settings through BlackVue application which supports Android smartphones/ tablets and iPhone or iPad. BlackVue free application can be downloaded from Google Play or Apple App Store. DR500GW-HD comes with a specially selected Super wide 156 degree viewing angle lens for the best coverage. You can also use as surveillance camera too..

If you need audio mechanic, I can recommend you.

Hope this help.

Yourboss, may I know where you got the car? Parallel importer or direct from C&C?

Don't think there is PI for Kia. I bought from C&C (Alexandra branch)

Yourboss.. Thanks for clarifying the differences! We are advised not to take the car yet... Does anyone here knows what is truly the importance of vehicle ECU?

As we put our heart into believing KIA, this SE spoilt the whole mood. Hope the future servicing of our car will not be like this unfortunate event. One amazing thing is, at the time of our deal... We are just in time to receive the latest promo... 10yrs warranty on engine instead of 5 yrs. Incredible deal isn't it? No other brands here can compete with that, isn't it?

That's the reason why we have no regret buying this car when we paid the balance payment.

I have serviced my car with C&C for the past 4 years. Generally positive experience. Dont worry too much. The Service Advisors are nice and friendly.

Thanks SJYeo... :) im also trying to convince hubby to get Blackvue. Today the news was out that even Traffic police are going to use them for all their cars by 2015... more convincing now but not for the speedsters/offenders!

Yourboss, I thought freebies are given only by PI... bcoz our SE never offer any!

Dear All,

K5 Optima is the best mid size sedan you can get in the market for its price.

I drove K5 for 2.5 years, I never regret it. For those who says it is not as reliable as the Jap, that is so wrong. The K5 outshine the Camry in every way.

Glad i made a last min switch from buying Toyota to K5. The only nearest competitor is the new Mazda 6... although K5 is still the superior of the 2.

I have not tested the MZ6 yet. The K5 does feel good - tested that some months back.

Mazda 6 is also good car. Almost chose this car myself.

What I like about the car:

a. Soul red (really nice). Kia's temptation red no match.

b. Beige interior. Don't have a choice for Kia. Only black available.

c. Head room in the rear is better (if my memory serves me right)

d. Finishing more refined than K5

What I don't like about the car:

a. Dated handbrake which looks very unsightly. A foot brake or electric brake should be the way to go

b. Commander unit available in Mazda 3. Mazda 6 suppose to bring in an updated Mazda 6 (wtih DRL, commander unit and some minor improvements) but no date in sight. Maybe they can be found in Mazda 6 Tourer.

c. Lack of features which can only be found in their higher series. Option to top up and upgrade will be nice.

Mazda 6 Executive 2.0 was what I had in mind. But bose speakers and lane change assist (items which I wanted) are not available in this model.

Think I mentioned somewhere before why I compared Mazda 6 executive vs K5 2.4 - because they are in the same price range.

And don't forget the $10k CEVS rebate.

Local version of K5 has everything in my opinion except 3 things - in-vehicle video recorder, GPS and Uvo (head unit).

Initially, I found the steering wheel of K5 too light to my liking. After 1 month plus of driving, I got used to it. Now I find the normal steering too heavy.

Thanks for making the time to update. I must test drive the MZ6 and then the K5 again. but it will be next weekend as this will be a 3-weekend COE window.

Finally got our car... Really not many on the road we can see!

This is a Mature color hubby likes... The features are awesome! I just drove today as I'm still on probation plate & timid to try on 1st day :p... The steering is so light as compared to the Honda Stream we had then. I prefer Eco mode... The steering slightly better to control for me.

Congrats. I feel it is one of the nicest looking mid-sized sedans on the road, good that it is rather rare too.
