Ah, so means it is still best to install solar films?

But I read from the K5 thread in sgkia club that the installation for the solar films causes some oily look or something like that.

Is it still true?

And the SE told me still gotta top up 1k to install the solar films, or remove body kit in exchange for solar films.

Bro,

did the SE say (and will put in writing) exactly which brand and grade of solar film for the 1k? There is a very big range, both in brands and grades within each brand.

when i bought mine, it was to come with "coolrite" (or "ritecool"), supposedly standard with all cars from C&C. I asked the SE NOT to install.

Instead (afer taking delivery) I went to install the P70 version from Zen Services coz I've used it on my previous rides and confident that they work well for the money. ($390 including for the sun/moon glass roof).

I installed the same on my VW which comes with "solar glass" as well.

You can do the same with other brands, just be comfortable that the film work as claimed, installation is of good workmanship, and you're happy with the price.

Anyway now's time for buyers' market tell yr SE to wait long long for your deal or throw in more freebies including a better solar.

Yup its rike cool for C&C KIA. The Oilly thing will fade off after time. Think its the platinum 50 or something..but think its different for their Merc and Citroen brand. Pretty sure Merc gets the Huper Optik

you should be proud of your car model was selected as taxi fleet by taxi company, which means this model is FC efficient, relaibility and value for money [:p]

do you see any taxi company too stupid to select VW as fleet :D

[thumbsup]

3+ years, and haven't brought in my K5 to the workshop except for scheduled servicing...

10+ km/litre, and that's without trying to be "economical"...

still holding its own in terms of looks despite newer competitors..., with C&C/KIA having done a good job differentiating the taxi K5 from the "private" K5's.

[sweatdrop] next gen K5 will surely be better spec'd, positioned more posh and be more expensive..

Its diesel, so not relevant. Anyway, I'm getting about 8km/litre. 90% city driving though.

Anyone driving the new K5 can share how the the fuel consumption actually like? On paper it is 11.8km/litre

I like every aspect of this car (except for the light steering feel) but the fuel consumption is the major deterrent to me.

The new k5 is 2400cc. How to have good fuel consumption?

Yup, mine is the 2.4 version. Only 8 km/l in city driving. Still trying to adjust compared to the 1.6 that I had previously at about 11 to 12 km/l.

Thanks for sharing the information on the FC. Other than K5, I tested a few K5 equivalent Japanese cars

Even though the paper specs is typically for best possible scenario, I tend to discount it by 3km/litres.

Mazda 6 2.5 - 15.2km/l

Toyota Camry 2.5 - 13km/l

Nissan Teana 2.5 - 13.3km/l

Hence, I think it should be realistic for luxury sedans to achieve an average of 10km/litre.

Looks like I have to explore more options and look at the upcoming i45 and Subaru Legacy.

Mine is the 2litre version and I'm only getting 8km/l, cant imagine 2.4litre, I think Mazda 6 sky active engine would most probably get the closest fc to what it claims.
