Ferraricalifornia 1st Gear July 31, 2010 Share July 31, 2010 and i do really hope the K5 will have better foot room than the i45.... that really alleviates the interior ambience and space to a higher level.... ↡ Advertisement
Caddilac Neutral Newbie July 31, 2010 Share July 31, 2010 quality wise, most Asians and Americans don't really care.... all they care is about brand image, style and size.... for me though, i'm more prone to the European side....and i appreciate workmanship.... which is clearly absent in most japanese and korean cars.... even Lexus fails under my expectations.... won't commend further. That's why Europe has such a high standard in their car. But the downside is that they don't earn high profit if they give the whole world the same high material-quality car (Not applicable to luxury brand). Sohboonguan 1st Gear July 31, 2010 Share July 31, 2010 the point i trying to say is, the nicer interior we are talking about dun worth the price. for better interior, and not plastic part and pay 10-50k or more is pointless. Workmanship is nothing but a mold in mass production line. Assembly is done by robot and touch up by human. It is not like they hand made like Rolls Royce with signature on it. Even the door they take pride in making it hand made. That is workmanship. Anything other then that is Mass Production Assembly Line and nothing more. You can even do leather wrap or carbon fibre wrap to your entire car interior with less than 5k. but to get that and pay additional 10-50k? it is a NO NO to me. I see i see. But of course i do know there are people willing to spend 10-20k to change to a better audio system. for me, as long as it is a good audio system i'm ok with it. unless it is damn lousy, then i will at most spend 2k max to replace it. leather seat for example, it is not really a must. but if it will make my car less dusty and cleaner. then it is essential to spend 1-2k to change it to leather, not anything more. Well... you are absolutely right about the important of own preference. if one prefer to have that kind of premium interior, even 100k, also willing to pay. performance for example. 4sec 0-100km to 3sec 0-100km at a price of 300k. I beg people living uptown will fight to buy it. downtown people can't even be bother with the 1 sec improvement, but uptown people can't even be bother with the 300k additional. I'm kinda envy the depth of the pocket of uptown people owning exotic supercar etc. I guess human behaviour is very interesting. And that makes everyone of us unique individual. Ferraricalifornia 1st Gear September 12, 2010 Share September 12, 2010 i just hope, by then, COE for CAT B won't reach $50k nia.... or else C&C Kia will be crying.... cos the launch price will probably be $110k for the EX version.... and $120k for the SX version.... 2.0L 164bhp 6AT version.... not even talking about the 2.4L (if they bring in), or 2.0T (in the coming months).... Sohboonguan 1st Gear September 12, 2010 Share September 12, 2010 Just wonder when will K5 arrive in SG. Honestly, most people in singapore have mindset problem... K5 come now, who will buy? I will not buy... 1. must be expensive with the COE and all. 2. Kia, people tends to depreciate the car by branding 3. I already own a Forte, my time is over and done with for the next ten years from the day i bought my car. 4. K5 is not really that stylish... K7 will be better 5. not forgetting new Avante and i45 is on competitive level given all these, the odds is not really that promising for K5 arrive or not. Ferraricalifornia 1st Gear September 12, 2010 Share September 12, 2010 K5 will sell, at least for the 2.0L version??? cos definitely it'll be better equipped than the rather basic spec 2.0 i45.... yet, selling at the same price or less....
Ferraricalifornia 1st Gear September 12, 2010 Share September 12, 2010 the i45 now, ain't selling well, cos the 2.0L lacks the premium features.... only 2.4L gets them.... and no one will buy 2.4L Korean cars.....

Maybe ST tested a different version from the one in singapore cuz I rmb the article said that they tested it in some other country. Definitely not in singapore. ↡ Advertisement
