1st hand. Manufacturer date is about 8 months ago.

Oh you mean that both sets of tires were first used about 8-9 months from date of manufacture?

May I ask how much you paid for these Goodyears? Your set is 225/45/18. Mine is 235/45/18. I wonder if these Goodyears have such a size? I'm also looking for quieter tires but I guess I have to wait until these current Kumhos are done... which will be another 35,000 km first... long time more... at least 3 years...

Both sets of tyres were manufactured 8 months ago, by the time it reach the rack and installed and used by me is 8 months later.

I got each at $275/tyre + GST. I don't think ir is the cheapest I could get but at least from someone I know who will not give >2 years old tyre.

Wah good price leh... but it's a bit smaller than what I asked for today... went to Autobacs, was quoted $350 for Yokohama Advan Sport... and $400+ for Michelin Pilot Sport 3... phew... super expensive tires leh... for my tire size, they only have these two brands... I'll be happy to pay less than $300 for lower performance tires, but with good grip and low ride noise... and lasting... don't need super duper tires...

Anyone wants used Bosch Aerotwin wipers for their K5?

24" and 18" 5 sets.

2 sets are rather old and the other 3 sets are relatively newer. None of them used more than 2 months per rotation. So 1 year use once for 2 months, then wash, clean, cost with rubber dressing and then go back to storage.

Well, you did go to Autobacs, and while I confess that I regularly enjoy browsing the place, and even buy stuff on occasion, it's never been particularly cheap for tyres. Any tyre specialist should be able to give you better deals. You should be able to get pretty super tyres in your 235/45R18 size without busting your $300 budget.

I'm quite clueless about tires lar... cos change so infrequently... every 40,000 km then change once... so never really bothered much... but now cos the tires are so expensive, must take more interest... so far the Yokohama Advan Sport V105 seems like a good balance between ride comfort, noise and grip... with my tire size, only can consider ultra high performance tires... a bit sian...

After about 2 months of owning a used K5. I have the following findings.

18inch stock rims really makes the car a little sluggish. I guess 17 or even 16 is better.

Cabin was quiet and stock sound system is good as well.

Acceleration and pick up was decent.

FC is about 8.8L/100km from my trip monitor

You probably can get better fuel consumption... I'm getting close to 7.8L / 100 km or about 12.0 km / L consistently, especially on more relaxed drives, I'm looking at 12-13 km/L...

Either you guys are good or I have a problem. I'm getting approx 8km/l on average. 100% urban peak hour drive.

That's normal mah... I get around 9.8 - 10.2 km/L on Mon travelling from Jurong West to Serangoon, non-highway all the way via Boon Lay Way, Ulu Pandan, Farrer, Lornie, AMK Ave 1... super a lot of traffic... that's 100% urban peak at around 6.45 - 8.00 pm... takes more than one hour...

Usually I clock 12.0 km/L on 50% highway 50% urban, morning school-going peak hour. Weekend trips are usually better than 12 km/L cos less traffic, not rushing, cruise more...

No more new K5 owners?

Unfortunately I don't think so... not in this forum at least... also I haven't seen any new K5s on the road... really haven't seen any. Also not easy to spot. Also haven't seen any new Sonatas on the road either... probably very few sold. At this price point, people prefer SUVs.

Turbocharged

Recently saw one facelifted (the one with the "ice-cube foglamps", not the latest one) K5 in the blue color. Beautiful.

And remarkably quiet engine while idling.

A couple of months getting K5.

Ride is very spacious and comfortable however it is really underpowered. Pick up is worse than my previous ride hyundai avante 1.6

Maybe it is due to the oversized rims 18inches

Overall for a relaxed drive and the comfort of your passengers there is nothing to complain about.

Perfect ride to drive up to the north.

I've driven up once only to Melaka with my new Sonata... not far enough to enjoy the ride cos it's very crowded to Melaka... hoping to take a drive up to Cameron Highlands one of these days...

Yeah I have to agree that the car seems underpowered... but I think you have to rev harder... I take the car up to 4000 RPM, and you can feel the power man... hahaha... acceleration is very rapid... this car performs best at high speed cruising... very quiet and stable and smooth...
