My stock brake CMI, those hatch Rex brake even CMI. And stock rim/tyre tremble at 120km/h above.

Factory do cut corner, cut cost.

I believe a 1,000hp GTR can still be very "drivable." [cool]

With what you have you target to rival an M3 mah, but if starting with a GTR, the target would be different as well [;)]

whats the target? even veyron also left in the dust [laugh]

Haha no la it's just for fun... I like to think of modding the car as helping the car to realize it's full potential... Like Lego...

The 800 HP car is still quite driveable, the 3.8L displacement helps to ensure that the low end is readily accessible. So 1000HP shld be ok, just have to be very light on the throttle and utilize the intrinsic power of the engine block without spooling the turbos.... However ironic that sounds... [:p]

I agree, 1.6 liter is more than sufficient for manual, maybe 1.8 for auto for our road. Good choice of mod too. Thats the first thing I did too with my last ride. But then again, I was on those Wheels covers.

No self respect car lover should be caught dead with a car still running with wheel covers.

=============

I had no choice but to change the wheels/tires cos I was shocked at the lousy handling on my Optra.

The car wud wallow around sweeping bends & cud not take sharp corners at slightly higher speeds.

I expected better handling after hearing many pple say Optra has "Conti handling" blah blah blah.

It was much worse than my 19 year old Corona CD even.

At least now it handles better but only sacrifice is it is noisier too. Anyway Im getting slightly deaf so maybe in a few years I can even say it wil b as quiet as a Rolls. [laugh][laugh][laugh]

Now for me my car is just used for a Point A to Point B transport & convenience to carry stuff.

My 1.6 lit has more than enough power for daily drives & the handling is very sufficient too.

What I look for is economy & reliability most of all. Comfort & space too.

The "biggest" mod I have now is upgrade from 14" steel rims to 16" sports rims with low profile tires to have acceptable level of handling but I do find the noise a little irritating sometimes.

Maybe next tire change I go with PP2 or PS3 & see how (currently on A Drive R1). Cost more but my tires last a damm long time.

Same for me, point A to Point B.

1000km per month

Never on the track

Gun a bit only.

basically 100% stock except rims and ECU tuning

If I want a more powerful car, I'll probably just buy it.

Dont have the time and interest to mess around with internals.

I don't drive GT-R leh. Where got money to buy. The road tax will kill me already lah.

Academically speaking, If I have a GT-R, my first target will be a nose job. Not a fan of the "Bull dog face" bumper.

Relax lah bro. Whatever sail your boat. I am sure the low end is ok, its when the power comes in that I will be worrying. The Gt-R transmission is like US$20k ?

Anyway, I was going to ask you coming to meet up on Friday, at usual place at Ponggol. Maybe we can meet there, together with the other bros from SG evo forum.

I think the better word will be "personalise", especially those name + flag sticker at windows.

Funny thing is, here in Sunny Singapore, people like to buy cars that are common, then wanted to set their car apart from others, by putting decal, soft toys, bodykits.

Damn, I even saw hello kitty exhaust tip (like in this picture). *face palm*

Yes, i will, i must, go this Friday. Every Friday i just end up dozing off after dinner, then wake up ard 11pm.

For GTR, there's a clutch upgrade pack which is S$7K thereabts, and then there's the gear upgrade for high power set-ups, which is charged by the gear.

Only PPG manufactures this, they're NZ based. I was quoted S$7-8K for 1st gear upgrade. So to construct a stable 1000HP GTR for 1/4 mile race, the transmission is expensive. For SG driving, 1st gear more than adequate.

If aggressive driver, may have to add 2nd gear. Simply reason being that full throttle 2nd gear = 100km/h, as per the Evo.

So won't get a chance to do full throttle 3rd gear unless really aggressive driver. [:p]

Besides, the Punggol meet-ups - no TPs or road races right?
