Do you rate Ze912 a good and quiet tyre?

after reading all postings on tyres.

1) all new tyres no matter what brand and type is 99% quieter than the old tyres.

2) all older tyres no matter what brand, half will say the grip is lousy, half will say wear out too fast.

3) all new tyres no matter what type will 99% have better grip.

So my conclusion is to buy new cheap tyres every year. I get to enjoy quieter and good grip at the same price of keeping a expensive tyres for two years!

Sorry to revive an old thread.

I'm on 205/65/R15 ZE912 for almost 18K in 2 years.

Not sure whether it is time to change tyre. I know I have to look at the square mark but not really sure. Can anyone advise?

Here are the pics of the tyre.

still can use but not long. can use until the square mark cannot be seem at all. Looks like your alignment is out for the wheel eating the outside of your tire. Need to get your alignment done or you got camber issue.

IS a little too short service life (only 18K km) to me

and probably you have not done your tyre maintenance regularly (esp rotation or pressure)

I wont said your car alignment is OUT from your pic, is quite normal for our car here is norm to have wearing more of outer part (for front esp front left)

alignment of tyre may not be necessary for your case

I will rate this tyre more like Budget tyre(5/10) if you are a not looking for any premium Quality

Tyres is the only 4 contacts

Thanks guys for your input.

Yeah I didn't do the 10K rotation. Forgotten about it. Changed at Stamford and they give free rotation after 20K. Should have done it at 10K.

Anyway, from my reading on the forum, I've so far zoom in to the following for my size. Am looking for comfort and good grip.

Toyo Proxes C1S

goodyear EfficientGrip

yokohama advan DB

Michelin Energy XM2

Intend to call Li Hong to check the prices as I stay in Bukit Batok. If you guys have any shops to recommend in the west will be glad to try also.

Hi,

Used ze912 before on my coe car. The dry grip is not too bad.

As the grooves are not wide enough for water to escape, wet grip can be a hassle.

On a few occasions, the car skidded forward without any form of control.

After about 15K, I gave up on the tyres and switched to toyo, roadstone, continential.

Cheers

My experiences with falken tyres were not good. Once it skidded and twice, the tyre cracked after a puncture.

Since then, have been using Continental. Good and grippy. Only downside is that it is becomes very noisy after 15k on the road. But it's okay, i can trade in some noise for safety.

My re002 is from indo and I find it very grippy for dry and wet weather. Only thing is i find them quite heavy.

ZE912 is crap, i skidded on a straight road on a rainy day and i was only going at 40km/h max. The tyres' mileage were about 10k km at that time and i had them changed in the next weeks while upsizing my rims.

I avoid Falken.

please don't avoid Falken if you are on BUdget.

You pay what you get.

If you are on high expectation from your tyre please buy only Premium Quality and from Official channel(non Parallel import)

I am on Very high expectation from tyre, so I use only high grade premium tyre

I never believe on SAVING on tyre (only 4 contacts)

I rather SAVE money on anything other than brake and tyres

I think they have come up with a new model for the 912. Perhaps u can try to see if it has improved. The tyre shop boss tell me there is not much difference(if a boss does not try to sell u expensive tyres, u can trust him) and few luxury brand like lexus and bmw use them too.

You might want to test out more affordable brands like roadstone, accelera and kumho. They seem not too bad.
