Mustank Hypersonic July 1, 2010 Share July 1, 2010 recently i raised my truck's suspension not hiong like those jimmys very marginal one ........ really trust me but after the raise of about 2 inches, fuel consumption has reduced by about 10% anyone knows why is this so? ↡ Advertisement
So_nice 6th Gear July 1, 2010 Share July 1, 2010 i believe its juz an one-off ba. try 2 more tanks.

Kangadrool Supersonic July 1, 2010 Share July 1, 2010 Should be the reverse. But, maybe you drive more gentle due higher CG scared your truck topple.
Jp66 5th Gear July 1, 2010 Share July 1, 2010 5-6 tanks liao leh...... really don understand why Maybe now you have more space below, so more wind flow under and help lift the truck while moving....
Mustank Hypersonic July 1, 2010 Author Share July 1, 2010 actually initially iwas quite scared really.....very scary.....suspensionis defintely softer....turn left, turn right...all very slow..... but later, reverted to the bad old self ......fuel consumption about 10% lesser than normal leh..... Mustank Hypersonic July 1, 2010 Author Share July 1, 2010 (edited) maybe i don know man......but i am thinking of passing over this 10% savings to increase the width of the tyres by 10% (from 255 to 275)....safety is no.1 for me increasing the width by 10% is likely to result in 10% increase in fuel consumption (i think) Edited July 1, 2010 by Mustank
Furrynadz 5th Gear July 1, 2010 Share July 1, 2010 (edited) read up on drag coefficient and drag area http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Automobile_drag_coefficient http://www.gmecca.com/byorc/dtipsaerodynamics.html your drag coefficient is constant from vehicle shape, but your frontal drag area increased cars like citroen c5 fitted with hydraactive system lower themselves at higher speed on smooth road surface to reduce drag Edited July 1, 2010 by Furrynadz
Mustank Hypersonic July 1, 2010 Author Share July 1, 2010 but that's the strange thing......theoratically, lifting should increase drag......yet i am experiencing better fuel consumption..... maybe, i don go beyond 100 and therefore drag not so bad
Aeromania 1st Gear July 1, 2010 Share July 1, 2010 Aerodynamic. Ground clearance higher means more air can flow through the bottom so will have less resistance. For those racing cars they always adjust until very low or add front lip spoiler so that the downforce will push their vehicle down so that during high speed wun peng so easily but due to the massive resistance, fuel consumption will be quite chor. Xavina Neutral Newbie July 1, 2010 Share July 1, 2010 (edited) from what i understand, the higher ur ride, the bigger the frontal area. Bigger frontal area = lesser aerodynamic :P Well, maybe its smashing thru the air right now, instead of flowing thru it Edited July 1, 2010 by Xavina
Transfoamer Neutral Newbie July 1, 2010 Share July 1, 2010 Higher = Less Gravity = More Power to Weight Ratio or formula sk56lgi^ua56.889s@/khjt@*0.00344/sdf(6.888/asf)*wth2/wth4>tsaf*0.pie.
