In terms of hardware, HTC desire is much better.

Got a Samsung Galaxy S here! Got it for $150. But need to pay extra $100 because changed after just 1 year. Would have waited another year, but my piece of crap Sony crap broke down.

I'm deciding between Samsung Galaxy i9000 and HTC Desire. Both 1ghz processor.. Headache.

My sister and colleague have the Desire. Or rather, NexusOne and Desire.

I let them play with my Galaxy S for a while. Both of them want the Galaxy S now.

It's a lot cheaper. The screen is bigger. Samsung's Super ALOMEDSOEMD technology is better, so the screen colour is beautiful.

I tried the Omnia 2....can't quite make it.

Nice features, but the hardware can't support. And the touch screen abit....slow.

The Galaxy S is just $150 with a $56 plan. I think that's quite reasonable.

How long have you been using Omnia 2? Gives you any problem?

I am thinking of getting one. It is $88 only under iOne plus plan from SingTel. Worth it?

My heart is iPhone but the price is $500+ which I am not willing to pay.

I use mobile phone for calls and sms most of the time. Other features, nice to have it if it cost nothing or little.

Build in GPS antenna. no need to use data plan/telco for routing or to get a location lock (Note: GPS doesn't work indoor unless u use the A-GPS that requires the data plan). Without SIM card you can still use it like a handheld GPS, just need to update the map thats all.

been using it for about 5mths or so..

Pros:

Big screen.

8GB onboard memory and you can add another 16GB microSD for up to 24GB memory

If you buy from local telco, they give you the AgisNAVI GPS software, with SG and Malaysia Map included

Good multimedia phone. Excellent movie and mp3 experience.

Cons:

The Samsung ROM just SUCKS BIG TIME. they replace almost every Winmo feature with their own..and that lags the phone badly..

Thanks for the reply. Seems like, the reason they sell it cheap is because it has its limitation.

Seems like I will have to keep my current Nokia E51 for a few more months until I am willing to pay for iPhone 4.

I am due for an upgrade in mid July and am in the same dilemma as you. The Samsung looks great with its super amoled screen and swipe inputing of words. But, it looks more plasticky. The Desire's Sense UI is excellent and the feel of it is very solid. The disadavantage is that it has only 128MB for installing of apps. Gotta wait for the OS upgrade to Android 2.2 Froyo to enable the microSD card to download the apps into. Decision, decision!! Headache, man.

was aiming between desire and samsung galaxy s and after got to know galaxy s is simply an apple wannabe [thumbsdown] , i went for desire and no regret.... [thumbsup]

since some of you here talk about omnia2, i was holding omnia2 before the switch to desire and my only complaint on omnia2 or maybe the OS--->winmo simply suxxs... if omnia2 comes with android os, i wont change it after just 6mths of use....... on the +ve side, omnia2 produce nice pictures and video playback as well as sound quality..... picture/video taken and music playback with desire is no where near omnia2 quality... [:p]

omnia2 is a very good phone if you are not a "fast" user..... dont say you are not advice in advance, my son could hang the phone frequently when he flip press flip press quickly..... and i mean really hang until i have to plug out the battery to re-boot it.... anyway, winmo OS is famous for hanging.., so can't blame omnia2.... [laugh]
