In Valencia, it would be exaggerated to describe Hamilton as a cheat. He infringed the safety car rule, yes, but it was marginal, unlike Lampard's goal. That's why it took the Stewards so long to verify if Hamilton had indeed passed the safety car before the safety car line. They applied the standard drive through penalty. The stop and go penalty was abolished some years ago. It is to Hamilton's credit that he could drive fast enough to negate the drive through penalty. That pace is not a given. With the addition of ex-drivers into the stewarding panel, the stewarding has become more consistent in 2010...TBH, 2008 was one of the worst years I've seen in Formula One in terms of stewarding decisions.. Correct to say it was very marginal they actually had to spend time looking for the aerial footage in order to be absolutely sure. The Stop and Go Penalty is still part of the technical regulations though the fact that Lewis managed to retain 2nd was also due to the length of Valencia's Pit Lane being one of the shortest in the 2010 calendar..And also due to Kobayashi-san.. ↡ Advertisement

So, Michael should have just drive off at the red light at pit lane, then receive a drive through penalty. It might be better off. When everybody starts not respecting the rules, I can't imagine what will happen next. Btw, according to Alonso, Hamilton actually over took the medical car and speed off to pit lane where Alonso followed behind. So, Hamilton is indeed very competitive. Not a cheat, but also not a gentleman.

Despite the fact that he has had his "foot in mouth" moments before ("Monkeys at the back of the grid" comments, Lie-gate 2009), I feel that he has matured as a person especially through the last season, driving from the back to the front of the grid.. I wonder why some people still hate him.. same reason why ppl dont like Beckham and flame him and saying he is only handsome and not a good footballer dispite being in the voting for world best footballer a few times?? Jealousy.

Just don't like him. .. Maybe started since he lied to steward last year. He was given a second chance to correct his account but he lied the 2nd time. But luckily, there was a recording that proved he was lying. No doubt, he is bloody damn good at racing. F1 needs him. Wish Kimi to return next year after not so successful year in WRC.
