check with you guys

 

since the digital voice modem is to be turn on 24hrs, do they have connection problems for normal web surfing

 

well my modem is connected to a wifi router

but it seems that sometimes i cannot get wifi signal for my handphone

to solve that i got to off and on back the main switch of the modem

 

but lately sometimes my laptop direct connection via router cannot even access to the internet

when i unplug the lan cable from the router and hook directly to the modem, sometimes can work sometimes cannot

to solve, need to power off and on the main switch

 

so the question is, is the modem or router faulty or both

 

i got the modem for 3 mths but my g-router about 3 years

What model is your cable modem?

I'm using one modem SBV4200 for digital voice and one super ancient modem SB3100 for internet - still going strong though the wireless connections from my WRT54GS can sometimes throw tantrums.

i restore my CPU to stock than re-configure the modem/wireless ,everything.

 

now ok le...

SBV 5212 is a good modem. it support high speed, DOCSIS.

 

If your router from link-sys? if yes, change a router will most likely solve the problem.

you mean sbv 5121?

my router ig planex blw-54sg

previously my modem is motorola sb5101 which dont have problem

may due to the fact that i off the modem after use

 

but since i'm using digital voice, i can off my modem

Seems like modem is the culprit. In my case, though my wireless sometimes give problem, I'm 99% ok when I use lan cable.

 

Do you still have your sb5101? If so, maybe can get a splitter and use your existing sbv5121 exclusively for digital voice, and use your sb5101 exclusively for internet. As mentioned earlier, this is my setup (though my modems are much older than yours).
