I prefer the one where he did a stopped & skip trick (semi-final match) against a Pahang defender and bypass him and brought the ball to the goal line before passing it to Fandi Ahmad to score at 87 minutes. That very important goal that brought SG to the final only to lost Selangor ....... [smash]

It was the 1993 game against Pahang...

Spore made it to the final only to lose to Kedah 2-0...Spore put on a lacklustre show...and many questions were asked..

Sundram, Alistair Edwards were dropped from the squad and Sivaji was removed/sacked too

.....only Abbas & Jang Jung were retained....Ken Worden was recruited to coach the team...

but he left just before the tournment was abt to start....Douglas Moore the technical director was asked to take over

and he won the double in what was Singapore last appearance in the Malaysia Cup..

If u guys watched the 1994 final against Pahang in youtube....you would be able to see Douglas Moore wiping tears from his eyes when the final

whistle was blown.

I do remember....

I believe the 1994 semi-final leg at Kallang was the last match ever played in sg?

Fandi scored with a very lucky kick just a few minutes into the game

We were so busy tearing newspaper to throw into the air when the game started and when Fandi scored we didnt even have time to throw enough into the air LOL

And Alistair kicked the penalty kick straight to the keeper in the middle! Abdul Malek was dropped too.

I always felt the 94 team was much better and more consistent. the 93 team seemed to be very lucky most of the time and depended very much on star players; whereas in 94 they really played like a team. Until the Michael Vana saga.

Ken Warden even said SG team will NEVER make it, thats why he left. I remember he also put Fandi as defender during training and a lot of weird decisions were made regarding players position. Revenge was sweet when we beat his team (was it Sarawak?)

I remember shouting like a madman with my sis and uncles at my grandma place at kin keat during the finals. it was just amazing and we were sitting at the edge of our seats until the final whistle was blown (or at least, until abbas scored his hat trick). The classic scene was Douglas Moore wiping his tears. That brought a tear to our eyes too.

We WON the first ever M-league; and the M-Cup that came with it. If I remember correctly, it was the first year the M-Cup turned full-pro? Before that was semi-pro right?

Not sure how many of you attended this game

1993 M-Cup Quarter Final against Pahang...

I was sitting behind the Pahang goal and when the third goal was scored....in the dying min.....the whole stadium erupted into roar...

Coach Sivaji dropped this knee and kissed the ground when the final whistle was blown...IIRC...many VIP turned up from halftime...including the PM and a few cabinet ministers....

those were the days......

The 3rd goal left the deepest impression on my by Sundram. His dribbling was amazing.

I think that was the only time we can hear the whole neighbourhood shouting or cheering together at the same time [laugh]

There was a joke about them: "But two get one free!".

Tat final match, sundram got Alan davidson sent off for a 2nd bookable offence. If he remained on the pitch, doubt it be hard to break their defence
