OVERNIGHT PARKING AT HDB CAR PARKS WITH NIGHT PARKING SCHEME

2 Motorists are advised to use the night parking coupons if they need to do overnight parking as the $2 night parking coupon is designed specifically for use for night parking from 10.30 pm to 7 am the next morning. However, we do exercise flexibility on occasions where you do not have the night parking coupons ready. You may use the day coupons (e.g. 4 pieces of 50 cents or 2 pieces of $1) to make up for the $2 night parking charge.

 

3 The correct way to display parking coupons is to tear them all of the same time if you are using more than 1 coupon to cover the night parking charge of $2.

Alright this clears all the doubts and debates.

 

We can use coupons of other denominations to make up $2 for night parking. But must start from the same time!

 

Do take note for normal day parking or hourly night parking, the start time of the 2nd coupon should be at the end time of the 1st coupon so on and so forth. Not all coupons start same time ok?

Can just use 1 x $1 coupon from 6am - 7am since it's considered houly parking at night.

You can still put for 1hr parking only, max $2 that's all.

now then i know...i used to tear 4 coupon like this:

 

10:30pm

11:00pm

11:30pm

12:00midnight

 

And always tear the wrong date for the 12:00 midnight coupon cos it is consider as next day already

 

i should have tear all 4 coupons at the same time!

Thanks, I intend to park from 6am to 9am at certain place tomorrow. So I am not sure whether should I use $2 night parking + $2 normal parking coupon or, $3 normal parking coupon in total.

Be sure to put $3 tomorrow for your parking from 6am - 9am.

 

Cos night parking ends at 7.00am. So parking from 6 - 7am needs $1.00

 

7 - 9am is day parking already, so you need $2.00

 

Total $3.00

Thanks for the information and clarification. I still do keep night parking coupons handy with me.

it is not behind the coupon but hidden somewhere deep inside the parking website for hdb.

 

the problem is hdb has outsource to another company. hdb knows it is correct to use smaller denominations to make up $2 for parking.

 

But some of these workers (quite a no. are PRs from MY) of the outsource company may or may not know. some will issue ticket even if you do the above. i suspect this is to make it a hassle for you...then bobian, u go buy season in the long run.

This seems contradict with the info from HDB website. It didn't say MUST BE SAME TIME, but UP TO A MAXIMUM of $2

Night Parking Coupon

 

Car parks implemented with night parking scheme are identified by signboards bearing the parking times and charges. For easy viewing, the signboards are lit up after 7pm.

 

For car park with night parking scheme, motorists who park between 10.30pm and 7.00am can pay:

The half hourly rate of $0.50 up to a maximum of $2, or

Flat rate of $2.00

I can't recall what situation need to tear SAME TIME except parking within CDB area, eg $1 per half an hour.

Actually, when i tear more than one coupon, I've always torn all the same timing, whether for day or for night parking. Never been fined for that before. Guess it's basic common sense that no one will tear 4 x 50c coupons to park for 30mins, even in the day.

I usually just stack the coupons & pop through them all using my car key. I don't have the patient to tear one by one.
