actually choosing a car isn't based on only stats, BHP, torque, top speed, century sprint. if one is choosing a car based on these stats only, Opel Insignia would be the obvious choice.

but if lets say die die, someone point a gun to your head and force me to choose from the above.. MB C180CGI for me [laugh]

wun go as far as someone pointing a gun at my head but having tried the lot (except the insignia), gotta say the C180CGI does feel the best of the lot. was initially expecting the 1.8 to be sluggish but was pleasantly surprised on how torquey the engine was. [thumbsup]

Hi all!!!

Just a short introduction of myself. My name is Bernard and i'm with Auto Eurokars. (Agent for Opel cars in Singapore)

I have been following this post for sometime now and see that there is competition between the 4 cars mentioned.

I would like to take this opportunity to invite anyone who is interested or keen to test-drive the Opel Insignia. As what some say, only after u test the car, will you be able to feel and experience the real thing. No obligations at all even if you're here just for a test-drive. I'd be more than happy to entertain this request.

On a side note, the list price of the car is currently $149,888. (of course, this is price before discount. [:p] )

Do call me at 94741720 for a chat. Am very willing to entertain all test-drives.

cheers!

Bernard Li

Yup! The 1.8L engine in the new CGI range is very torquey...can overtake with ease even on 5th gear while cruising. And the acceleration is very linear and smooth. [thumbsup]

Best of all, Vath has already introduced a tuning package for the CGI, so the c180 can easily chip up to 200 plus bhp.

I have test driven C200 and A4 this month. Did not test drive the C180. Both C200 and A4 are 1.8 turbo engines.

Value for money is C200. OMV is $46K and final selling price after cash rebate is $156K. A4 OMV is $37K and final selling price is $158K

Driving Experience is better for A4. Handles corner and acceleration well, the audi drive select does wonders, and turbo lag is not noticeable in A4. turbo lag is very apparent for C200 when I floored the accelerator. Braking for A4 is surprisingly good for stock brakes. Not so "chiat" for the C200.

Interior. About the same, but the 3 spoke A4 wins for me cos I cannot stand the 4 spoke C200. ALso the button hand brake and hill start for A4 was a plus for me. C200 have to release a pull lever to disengage hand brake.

In the end, I booked the A4.

And finally, it is not easy to get $20K off A4. Maybe it is because I lack the contacts.

How about the new 3 series 1.5T with 168bhp? is it a good choice? heard it launching in early 2011, can advise? changing my car soon, don't know whether to wait or not?
