Cruise - Super Star Virgo ......

Super Star Virgo had been around for the past 15 over years and this is the first time going on board with my whole family next week. (a bit suah koo..... [:p] ). Might not want to board again after this trip. Just want to get the experience on board a cruise ship.

Will be on board for 3 days 2 nights cruise to KL and I had planned to stay on the ship throughout. The stopover at Malacca & KL doesn't attract me as been to both places countless times.

I would like to make full use of the journey to explore the ship as much as possible and would like to seek fellow members (who had been to the ship) suggestions where the best places to enjoy during the journey.

Will limit myself at the casino for 2 hours only (throughout the journey) and the rest is exploring, exploring, exploring......... [sly]

Your suggestion(s) and recommendation is very much appreciated. [thumbsup]

Regards.

...there's not much to explore, honestly. I went on a cruise ship once (think it was Virgo? Can't remember), won't go on a second time.

Quite boring, to be honest, especially if you're not gambling.

It's good to experience it once. But, in the end, you just spend most time swimming, walking around, sunbathing, gambling and looking out at the sea.

The first 3 you can do anywhere, the last....gets boring after 5 minutes. Gambling you're limiting yourself.

Unless you're going with your GF/BF/F--K Buddy, then it's better, I guess.

Sorry hor. Pouring cold water.

But from their website, there is a 24hrs theatre, games arcade, swimming pool. spa ....etc.

The theatre I can't remember. There's shows with the meals, that one...okay. Not too bad. The arcade?

I think 20-30 machines? Old and.....not fun.

Well, except for this one machine, which I used up all my tokens on. Still got fond memories of that.

Turbocharged

On Virgo twice.

These are the things you can do:

Gamble (but only in int'l waters) - when berthed in KL, cannot so you make sure you have something else to do

Go suntan/swim/kuah zharbor in bikini. Esp good to pass time for those with young kids

There is a live performance at night if I remember correctly

Utilise all your free meal vouchers in the free chinese and ang mor restaurant

Karaoake - but need to pay one

Eat at the free buffet bar

Got basketball court, games organised by the crew - but you need to know the schedule

I think got massage, spa but must pay

Got gym but I don't think you will be using it [;)] There is also a running track around the ship

Think that's all. My last trip was many years ago.

I've been on the virgo 3 times and i am there for the food as i don't fancy the casino as well. It used to allow passengers to eat in the restaurants that is free and also the buffet area if you need to go for 2nd round but the last time i went think was early last year or the year before, they do not allow that anymore. Heard they implemented that after virgo came back from Hongkong when it was based there for a while. So now you either choose to eat in the restaurants (Chinese restaurant serves quite good food) or just the buffet area only as they scan your card. If you have kids then there is a theatre or a play area where you can leave them there. Of course there is the pool, arcade, performance shows which have to pay etc.
