Senior pastor Kong Hee is taking a 'needed rest', the congregation of City Harvest Church (CHC) was told yesterday afternoon.

The two services yesterday - at the Singapore Expo Hall 1 and at the church premises in Jurong West - were packed with a combined total of more than 10,000 churchgoers.

The 46-year-old church leader is not known to have made a public appearance since news broke last Monday that he was one of 17 CHC-related people who were helping in an investigation into the alleged misuse of church funds.

can someone verify? i remember reading all 17 were assisting, bot only 7 were detained. i assume detained means 48hrs. and apparently, Kong was not among the 7.

nothing conclusive from investigations yet, who knows CAD may even have to apologise to CHC. anyway , i believe in the judicial system of singapore.

if found guilty, hope KH will be repentant , him and his affliates submit to the judgement given and not cause trouble and divisions.

if not guilty then may reputation and justice be returned to KH and CHC and may God continue to use this church mightily to serve the community.

Even if KH is guilty some of the CHCers might not believe it and think that their messiah can do no wrong. Just that their messiah is KH, not JC.

I hope they remembered to confiscate his passport and lock up the toilets.

If he escapes custody, CHCers would say it is a miracle.

bible can be interpreted in so many ways. they can simply say those guys are doing business not to glorify God. But CHC is doing business to glorify God. So there's no end to interpretations.

Church is a place of worship, not a place of business.. Making use of God's house to do business is wrong.. the excuse of "doing business to glorify God" does not stand.

Verdict not out yet we can not say confirm. Just wait and see.

CAD also human, sometime might make mistake. But the main thing is, if KH is the cuplrit if yes. Then there is a case against CHC. If not, then CHC will likely not be affected.
