Is Marbella GPS good?

Wah bro Josho, judging from the camera picture in your profile, if I remember correctly, I have seen you in Clubsnap. Hahaha...... Ok, you want a PND, like what many recommended, you can't go wrong with a Garmin. Garmin is the only brand that you can find third party maps of this region and many parts of the world too. There are Malsingmaps (MFM)and Malfreemaps (MFM) providing free My/Sg/Bru and even Southern Thailand (for Malfreemaps). You have Navigasi for Indonesia and other countries too. Some of their maps are even better than Garmin's official map cos they (MSM and MFM) are updated every Monday compared to quarterly for Garmin maps (gotta pay). Get a localised Garmin 255W which is good enough. If you have any problem with MSM maps, look for me in www.malsingmaps.com . Cheers!

Ha! Right on. Im from that forum =P

I think I PM ya before if you were my friend.. i can't rem.

I was looking at 255W as recommended by you.

Shall head down to PC Show and see what they have to offer.

Apparently, my friend know the person in Marbella which can provide me a better deal... But I'm still thinking tho. Just read on HWZ that there are some good review on marbella.

But the price different is not alot comparing to marbella to Garmin 255W

I am using m550 deluxe...bought it during last it show. price wise the best out of all the gps i see . and due to the nature of my work , i have to go overseas frequently . so that time i went over and loan Australia map from them. it was very good , detailed... good customer services also. To me, GPS are just gps , take away branding and they will be the same. So i go for something that is durable, cheap, good and most important of all, SERVICE.

just my 0.20c

I think I might get the M880 Slim Deluxe @$269. Furthermore, there will be $10 off coupon that can use on the accessories costing $25.

No good deal for Marbella. Even have, I bet it might not be as good as from PC Show.

I heading down on Sat 12pm to view the GPS unit. =)

but i dun need a mediaplayer u see....already have a 6.1" touch screen HU...:)

that's why looking at m660 ($169) for basic function only..heehee... [laugh]

but if go for the m880 slim ($219 wif $10 discount), then the diff is $40...and to me, it's $40 buying a bigger unit..4.3" & 5", is it gonna make such huge diff? [:/] worth it? [rolleyes]

Maka's Mapking LandMark is just ok, but absolutely worse than Papago X3.

Mapking LandMark:

1. when it should be left turn, then it speaks "turn right", but shows left turn arrow on the screen. not very often, but If you just listen, then it will let you u-turn after u-tern.

2. no predictive keyboard.

3. can not adjust volume when navigation

4. junction view is a bit naive not real view

5. MTK chip is weak.

But Maka promise life time update, and 1 to 1 exchange, which is quite good. if not very critical to the funtion, just go and get one. It is too cheap.

Garmin use different OS, others like holux, papago, maka, tibo, elebest, etc use WinCE, which can have more functions like support windows ce programs: word excel, ppt, pdf.

Garmin can not do so many things.
