I dont know.

Hi All,

From the video, it seems that the car travelling at high speed, but if you look at the timing embeded on the video, the timing seems normal.

Maybe the lens of the camera is a "Fish Eye effect" therefore things getting smaller & any moving object seems faster.

Whats the current view as to the best (quality) camera out there.

After following this thread closely last year.. I tried the Geocross V3000 and the video was awful.. So I then looked at the HD720P and F500HD and went for the F500HD in the end.. In truth I loved it! Didn't like the design, but it did what it did very well.

Unfortunately, 3 weeks ago, some scumbag nicked it from my car during the night, because my car kindly wound its windows down when I sat on my keys.. I have CCTV footage of him:

http://www.mycarforum.com/uploads/monthly_...-1318848220.jpg

and hte police know who he is, but I don't know if they are doing anything.

Anyway, after my disappointment of loosing it, atleast I can use the opportunity to upgrade.. The DOD GS600 was top of my list, but I read that its buggy, and I am not sure I like the idea of it recording my speed.. So I was tempted by the GS300.

Unfortunately, where as DOD sold it directly to me before, now they want me to go via their UK distributor and the price is ridiculous..

So what cameras are out there now, which have good HD video?

I want good video... Descrete design. And reliable software.. Anyone got any recommendations?

Nope. Video taken by Nokia E6 mobile phone. Then edited by Pinnacle Studio HD v15. I removed original sound, insert music and trimmed the music to suit the video. And finally export in 720p HD.

Just a little sample of what the software is capable of.

The problem with the GSE580 is the shape/size.. I loved having the screen on my F500HD, but it made it attractive to theifs which is why it was stolen...

This time round, I want something descrete, such as the GS300.. But I must admit that the Pittasoft DR400G-HD has caught my eye.. Nice features.. Great design.. But is it any good????

Bro Jweaver, which part of UK are you from?

DR400G-HD has the latest of everything. It should be considered one of the best cam now. But think its pricing should be quite high too. U can read up some of the product advertising posted by our 2 regular vendors here about this product.

I am from South Wales.... The DR400G-HD is looking very tempting.. Its very small and I would like to think that no-one would notice it, let alone try to steal it...

Southern Wales is very far far away mate!

If you want something which no-one will notice, the DR400G-HD is a good choice. Its tube-style cam body can be hidden fully behind the rear view mirror. Or the cheaper older version Blackvue is just as small and good, but without HD.
