Went down to take a look at the Yeti, Combi and Fabia.

The Yeti dose live up to its name being big on the inside, can't imagine how much space you have in there, as I just popped in for a quick look I did not have time to take it for a test drive.

Fabia - was quite fabulous! 1.2 TSI - what more can you ask for, looks nice and something to give the Swifts and other models in this class a run for their money. Well built, speedy yet economical. Nice one.

Combi - somehow the combi makes the Superb look complete, love the accessories and features on this model, the moon roof makes the luxury factor up a notch, no wonder it wonder luxury car of the year by Top Gear!! Automated rear boot at the press of a button, sweet. The 1.8TSI, 7 Speed DSG is there so gives it a bullet proof engine.

Today I am still kicking myself for not upgrading to the new Superb sedan when it was first launched.

So check them out this Saturday - thats tomorrow for the launch prices!!

You may not get what you see in the showroom, that's what members in VAGSG forum says about showroom cars do not match what you pay for.

I always make caveat in my purchase document that I expect to get what I see on the show piece, down to the tyre. That is consumer rights, insist on it....

I have seen the 3 new models. Cost-cutting and down-speccing are still apparent in the Yeti and Fabia models. Both are equipped with locally sourced rims. The ones on the Yeti look a bit out of place, imo.

Both models are not equipped with Maxi-dot instrument cluster, which is not exactly a very expensive option to include at the production stage. Based on the UK Skoda brochures, Maxidot option costs around GBP150. The multi-functional steering wheel with paddle-shifts and Maxidot costs around GBP300. These are simple options to include, which really raise the feel-good factor of the car.

There is one 'unique' feature on the Yeti's instrument cluster though. The test drive unit (& all units in the current batch, for that matter) is equipped with an Irish-spec speedometer. There is a small miles/hr readout at the bottom right corner of the mult-functional display in the dash. Only vehicles sold in the UK and Ireland are required to be equipped with mph & kmh speedometers.

The panaromic roof is a good-to-have item. However, without proper heat insulation, it is more of a bane than a boon. Having such an expansive piece of glass will drive up the insurance premium without doubt.

The Superb Combi is arguably one of the best-specced cars that HA has brought in recently. However, is it necessary to equip it with Sunset glass? That's a GBP400+ option which adds to the OMV and final cost of the car. A competent tinting specialist will be able to provide such a tint with 40% VLT for less than $200 for the whole car, if infra-red rejection is not a prime consideration. For that matter, Sunset glass does not enhance the IR rejection capability of the glass panel.

The Roomster is actually bigger than the Yeti both in the booth and rear passenger space.

Hi Guys,

the Yeti, Fabia and Superb Combi are here ! Just been to the showroom during lucnh today. All the three models are in the showroom; both the Yeti and Fabia comes in the 1.2TSI engine but both are without electronic seats ! The sunroof that comes with the Yeti is quite cool though ! [inlove]

I was told the list price of Yeti is $108k while that of Fabia is $86k ! There will be special launch price this saturday but wonder how much lower it can be

dun know about now, but it seems that the fabia is priced closed to VW Polo Sport 1.2 TSI (list price S$87,300) ! [hur] and its a Skoda ......

In Life section of last Saturday (29 Oct 2011) Straits Times Page E17, "SKODA EXTENDS WARRANTY". It is reported that "Skoda has extended warranty on all cars made from 2009 onwards. The warranty is for five years or 150,000km, up from three years or 100,000km." Further in the article it is reported that "Harvest Automobiles says the extension is with immediate effect."

As Harvest started bringing in Yetis only in 2010, so it seems like good news for Yeti owners here.
