Rattling noise from engine.

Hi Guys,

 

Recently, i have been experiencing rattling noise during the initial engine start up. The rattling noise is unbearable given the number of months i only got hold this car.

 

I've been asking around with regards to this rattling noise issue and was told that it could due to VVT solenoid. After researching from google, i managed to find some information's ragarding rattling noise and VVT solenoid issue.

 

The possible caused and reason could be due to: -

 

- Disconnect the VVT solenoid and see if the symptoms persist.

- Early signs of VVT (don't get what it means)

- Alternator/pulley and/or variable valve timing solenoid/pulley problem

- Turn off aircon (did that but rattling sound still persist)

- Faulty cambelt

- Lousy engine oil (I'm using Shell Helix Ultra Malaysia)

 

Was wondering any bros here with VVT engines encountering the same problem before? I'm going for my 5K soon and hope to sort everything out.

Its hard to tell what causes it because many things can cause rattling noise. suggest you to bring it back to your agent to check since your car is still so new.

Maybe Your Piston crack or what and your engine is the Toyota Corolla model it will occurs one.

 

Recommand you to go back to the servicing center to do a full engine check.

How come you say TS engine is Toyota Corolla? Is it "VVT" being mentioned?

Both TS's avatar and profile say its Hyundai leh.
