Bidding for your own COE....yes I know its increasing

I am starting this thread to address the suggestion by a number of people to let people bid for their own COE instead of letting dealer bid.

It actually WILL NOT WORK....the reason is simply this:

 

Lets say everyone bid for their own COE. You get your COE at $10k (a bargain at today's prices)...then what?

You still have to go to dealer right? Then you need to worry about the dealer jacking up his/her price.....

Coe drop by $20k but dealer increase by $25k...how? Go to another dealer who may also do the same?

So you double headache.....those of us we have been affected by the Borneo Motors FIASCO know this.....

Nth to do with how much dealer charge. Dealer's price will be determined by supply and demand. We are not talking about the price, the issue here is dealers are artificially increasing the prices of COE because they are not the one who are ultimately paying for the COE, therefore they do not mind bidding a high price.
