CAR buyer Lee Chian Heng was attracted to Toyota's new Wish seven-seater last June, but it was not yet available at authorised agent Borneo Motors.

 

Then he came across parallel importer SQ Carz, which advertised the Wish at a little over $70,000, and was hooked.

 

'They took out half-page ads regularly, and when I went down, the showroom was fairly big and the salesman behaved quite professionally,' Mr Lee, a 55-year-old engineer, recalled.

June last year till now.

It must be a harrowing 11 months of nightmare for Mr Lee.

 

Looking at the reduced COE quota....some PI might also not be able to sell enough cars to stay in business.

Better be careful for those who are going to get PI.

Best is always to get ready stocks with the chassie number already known.

just to add... i've been to ACE Motor @ Ubi mega mart 1st flr, and infact my friends have purchased cars from themthe sales guy Andy is the most honest guy i have ever met... infact much better then many AD sales ppl... i almost got my TypeR from him but the stock he had was not in purfect condition, (but mainly because my wife was strongly against me buying it ) anyways i had friends who visited him many time but in the end bought a car from an AD from recommendation from Andy... i feel he gives good service to anyone who steps in his shop... but no comments on other staff there...

i remember SQ carz at a motor show at EXPO... so many pretty girls all... so impressive... but in the end... open at woodlands and died in no time... soon Ubi died...

Just be careful when buying from PI....with cut in COE quota, do your checking thoroughly b4 paying them money. One friend in the motor trade industry who just retired commented that more PI will fold and AD will downsize their sales staff in the near future....luckily he has retired.

they shud put more details of the owner or staff of the PI .... so other ppl out there can keep a lookout and avoid this group of ppl to avoid being cheated again.
