think theres only 1 direction for coe price to go.

unless something adverse happens and everyone starts scrapping their car....

has gov started the scheme to pay cash back for scrapped cars lesser than 10yrs? <_<

Like I had mentioned somewhere, the drop is cool.

however, what's the point of dropping Cat A, Cat B and Cat E so much but maintaining/increase in Cat D?

In our congested roads, Cat D vehicles can easily take up 1.5 to 3 times the space from a Cat A/B/E.

Enough said. Planning s--t... -.-

Just take a look at the link below, looks like there will be another significant drop of quota from Aug 2010. The is a sharp drop from of Cat A & B deregistration on Apr.

http://www.lta.gov.sg/corp_info/doc/M05-De...0by%20Quota.pdf

The trend is expected, 2005/6 are low COE period so most ppl are unlikely to dereg their cars due to low paper value. Plus new car price still consider high which makes more ppl hold back their purchase.

expected this alr. new quota cause COE prices to shoot up > COE prices cause new registrations to go down > new registrations go down causing new quota causing COE prices to shoot up again.

think we won't reach an equilibrium until maybe 2 to 3 years ltr..

yea....totally sux. as the prices goes up, less ppl by new cars.

demand for 2nd hand cars will go up and so will the prices..

Supply may be lower but the otherside of equation is equally important. I think few people can stomach almost 100k for wish/stream esp in an uncertain economy

Additionally unless u plan to get a car 2nd half, then you'd be concerned, otherwise better to wait cos a lot of cars are registered in 2006/07/08 which will cross 5 years old and many will be scrapped, so best to wait till then for a reasonably price coe.

Can't be help bro Help1, i think this is human mentality. I also hope to see COE to go down somemore. But i think the promotion for KIA and Hyundai for the past 2 weekend will jack up the COE price again.

i guess they wont cut cos coe tickets are very low at the moment.

if they still cut i think all the AD will close shop. so many ADs fighting for so little coe ticket
