Sorry to bring up this old thread. My IU seems faulty, but can see the value in the card, butt at times when exiting, it takes a long time to have the card deduction. Is the IU faulty ? or the csah card ? I have not tried with another card yet.

I think high chance the carpark sensor at the entrance has problem.

Its always at the exit that it will take some time. Entry is always smooth, no delay. I will change another cash card to try.

yeah, usually things the facilitate ah gong collecting money don't spoil so easy one. 

 

try different cash card and different car parks (eg, shopping centre, industrial, HDB)

 

or pop into Vicom if convenient.

entry is ok right as it only communicate with IU

exit is not ok at times, so cash card change to a newer batch

maybe that card process to communicate with IU is intermittent.

At least 2cards in the vehicle

I had these similar issues with my IU over two previous cars. After diagnosis, twice were because of the cash cards, once was the gantry, and once IU faulty. I went to the LTA over these incidents to report and they waived off whatever extra charges/fines incurred. I was only asked to pay for whatever the amount the gantries were supposed to deduct from my cash card on that particular day and timing. 

 

According to the LTA officer, most of the time, it was faulty cash cards. And most often, cash cards that you often used to insert into those car park machines would wear-and-tear/deteriorate faster. He advised that I have at least 2 cash cards with me - one for use in the IU; the other for inserting into the machine.
