IU Inspection

Having problems with your IU? Send your vehicle to the authorised inspection and other appointed centres.

IUs are covered by a 5-year warranty against manufacturer

The IU spoiled on Fri midnight and i was stucked in the carpark for 15 min, pressed for comm also no response. Luckily the gantry just opened by itself... [sweatdrop]

Went to Vicom @ Changi (8am ~ 5pm) yesterday to get it fix within 30min.

Changed to the new slimmer ERP IU, but sianz need to report the new IU number for my season parking (Not sure how long it going to take).

Thanks everyone for the info provided! You guys are great! [thumbsup]

Just try another cashcard first.

Encountered problem with it, I still tot IU spoilt but in the end was the card.

Due to wear and tear of the cashcard, sometimes the gem-plus on the card is not fully in contact,

thus must change card.

I ever faced this problem before.

That is why I got more than 1 cashcard.

My IU did not work (no power). Went to VICOM. Was told probably wire loose. Within 1 minutes work (check and tighten wire), charge me $ 5.35 (include GST) ! Told me if IU damage, can exchange for free coz under warranty. For check wire, 5 dollar. Blood sucking! Next time better DIY

They have been doing it day in day out, so it's easy job for them. Try doing it yourselves and u might want to spend that $5

Hello! Just wondering - was the problem that the IU did not have any power and did not show any "ERR" message or the value remaining in the cash card?

If the IU is off, does this mean that we can drive through the ERP gantries without ERP being charged and without incurring a fine?

Thanks in advance.

hmm..hmm...hmm....

may not be a bad thing right that the IU is spoilt, be like a JB car use manual insertion for parking.

But can the authority detect u got a faulty IU?

Sorry to bring up this old thread. My IU seems faulty, but can see the value in the card, butt at times when exiting, it takes a long time to have the card deduction. Is the IU faulty ? or the csah card ? I have not tried with another card yet.
